One of the reason they are issuing AOR fast is because they have to catch up with 12000 cap. Just think CIC holding files for a month and then returns it back saying NOC cap is full cant except files any more. Waste of time and resources of both CIC as well as PA that why I think they are issuing AOR pretty fast.

Sorry again for being dumb, but what does this mean? Will everyone be asked for an RCMP clearance? If I turned in my police clearance from my home country (it was easy to get...wanted to make my application as complete as possible), will this be requested of me?

Thanks in advance!

No, not every applicant gets a RCMP request. Only when a name based search comes back positive they request fingerprints.

Yup, it is to reduce backlog and to improve processing time. If they take a long time to issue an AOR, then they will have more applications than they initially intended to process. Plus they would like fewer applications to process next year when the new immigration system kicks in.

Hopefully this trend continues till October 2014! :)

And the new system is working! Back in summer last year it took over 60 days to get the AOR,
now only about 20.

Hello, my PR application was received by CIC on 14th Feb 2014 and I got my AOR on 09th Mar 2014. Today I received an email to submit the RCMP Certificate. I have applied for PR inside Canada along with my husband who lives in India. The email does not say anything if I have to submit the RCMP for my spouse as well.
- I need your suggestion to know if this RCMP is only for those who are in Canada?
- If not should I send the RCMP for both of us even when the mail does not mention anything about spouse? For getting it done from India for my husband would be a bit long process.
- If they would have needed it for my spouse had they mentioned that specifically in the email?
Please suggest. Thank you so much!

--- RCMP is only for those whose are in Canada.

---If they only requested RCMP then it must be for you as you are in Canada. If your husband is in India then I guess you don't have to worry about him.

--- I am not sure about this. But as it is for people in CANADA, so for instance if you and your husband are living in Canada then you both have to send RCMP Certificate. But as your Husband is in India you don't have to worry about him. If he did visited Canada previously and then went back to India then I suggest you do it for him as well.
Please suggest. Thank you so much!

Hey Guys,

So I just noticed that my on my employment reference letter HR put the wrong date: Feb 13, 2013 instead of Feb 13, 2014. I am not sure what to do now. I recieved the AOR on March 17th. Should I just send the amended letter with an explanation that this was a mistake made by HR and has now been corrected? I sent it all my job contracts, pay stubs and bank statements and sending them the T4 and NOA soon. Should I include the new letter with the correct date?

Yes send amended letter and attach an explanation letter stating why you are updating your reference Letter. I think that should work.

Thanks Goku for your response! This site is a bliss for people like me. :D

Does it matter "how old" the letter is? Its just the date on the corner left side of the letter to imply they wrote it that day. I am still with the same company anyway.

Woohoo!!!! AOR received yesterday!!! ;D ;D ;D
