Hello my friends!

Quick question.

As previously mentioned, my fiance received his COPR last week. His letter indicates that he must enter Canada by November 27th, however, he really wants to be home (UK) for Christmas to spend it with his mum. Does anyone know if it's possible to extend the date on the letter so that he can stay for Christmas and come either end of December or beginning on Jan? We're not quite sure how to go about this request.

No, it's not possible.
However, he can "land" and then immediately return back home again for up to two years if required.
The sidebar modifications become available once you have enough posts.

Has anyone contacted an MP to see what the hold up is there. At least if you were seeing some movement it wouldn't be so bad, but the fact that nothing has happened is so disheartening. Surely someone can give you some kind of information.

My MP has been completely ineffective! I've called his office, sent e-mails and even got my father to personally a letter from me to him requesting information on my file. The MPs secretary sent me a form to authorize them to access info two months ago but I haven't heard squat as of yet.

I see no other way other than via MP to contact VO as they stonewall me with form e-mails and never answer the phone. How did you get YOUR MP to do his job?

If this nightmare continues into the new year, I'm considering consultation with a lawyer. Surely, a lawyer can get info out of VO?

hello everyone,

I'm from the May outland thread and I would like to ask some questions to you guys as I think there are some people have similar situation as me.

I already got my SA and PPR and sent off my passport on 12 Aug, I landed Canada as a visitor visa free ( a temp visa stamp for 6 months) on 1 July. Life has be stressed since we moved back as everything here is expensive and a bit of culture shock too. I cant wait to settle down and be able to find a job as I'm getting a bit anxious. I see a few of you also landed before visa received, so I would like to know any advice from you? I'm thinking can I try applying for job here and if I get any job offer then I can apply for work permit? or if I extend my stay here for the reason I'm in process of applying PR, can I be able to work?

Hi February members,
There seems to me less news this month as we continue with the long wait. As for me, its exactly 2weeks to my interview dates and i seem to be ready and waiting for the day to come/pass. Do i need to take my academic documents too, employment letter, or any letter from my sponsor (husband) or not?? Just wondering, please help me on this.
Otherwise, am hopefully that we will all go through with this soon. God bless!!

Although I personally do not believe they will need your academic documents since you are applying as family! Just be truthful and concise with your answers to them.
Please re address your message to the main thread of the Family sponsorship as more people will read it and give you an in depth answer about interviews

I emailed them earlier last month and asked them to tell me if at least they have our apps there! They replied to me 2 days later (Yes I know...unbelievable for Vienna ) and they told me that they have our files and that's it!
As you know so far no one from 2013 at Vienna has received anything from them. Nairobi is a 25 month VO and applicants from 2013 are already getting their visas
What the hell do you thing is wrong with this VO of ours? Have you any ideas because I run'd out of ideas or reasons as to why they did not even issue a single visa even for December 2012 applicants!

Hi Tom,

I know you must be getting frustrated about this whole situation. But we are also in the same boat, still not a single message to let us know even if they have received our application.

We just received our GCMS notes and it states that they still haven't even opened our files and the only thing that is "in process" is our medicals which we sent in over a year ago.

I don't know what we can do at this point. We have tried everything to try to get some answers, but nothing as of yet..

Our spreadsheet for Vienna has only 15 members from 2013 plus 3 more members leftover from 2012. Ok!
One would say that a VO any VO is not only serving members from this forum it has also other applicants. Even though that they have applicants outside this forum how many more can they be?
Remember this is not Manila. Manila only in the spreadsheet has more than 90 members. And Manila is on Strike! And Manila is giving out PPR's and Visas left and right.
Even Nairobi that has 25 months is handing out visas to 2013 March members.
Let me not mention Rome a very busy office that until last month had 14 months (now 13 months) wait is giving out Visas in less than 7 months to most of the applicants
Funny isn't it?
