Thanks. I just want to ensure it isn't going to delay and/or harm my PR application.
I wouldn't think so but you may want to go over to the Foreign Worker forum and post a note there to be safe. I am only going by what my father-in-law told me. He lives in Alberta and he knows a few people who got LMO's and filed for PR. But that was several years ago and things are always changing.

Can you get a LMO while awaiting Permanent Residency living in Canada?
Is that possible...and legal?
it's 2 different processes, and you can always try to get an LMO - it won't hurt your application, no worries.

I think my fear lies in the fact that my ecas doesn't even show "Medicals received". I will NOT be a happy camper if they don't have my medical results and that holds up my process.

Hey Buffy, we are in the same situation too. Nothing to show that they have received the medicals. And we had them done last year August..

Hopefully they will have them up soon...but just know that your not the only one!

Hello everyone!

it's been a while! How is everyone doing??
I have a question..
so we still haven't recieved anything from the embassy and it's now been 3 weeks since it changed to decision made, and that the address was changed to Canada on Ecas.

I also noticed that the mailing address is written as 10 16 rue XXXX. Paris
Now the problem is that our street number is 16 not 10. The ten is technically our mailbox number.
And seeing that we haven't recieved anything and it's been 3 weeks we're starting to think that maybe they sent it to 10 rue xxxx instead of 16.

what do you guys think?? should we send an email just specifiying the correct address??

I keep imagining they sent the COPR to the wrong address and by the time they figure it out it would have expired without us Landing.

I'm crazy right?? lol can someone please confirm so that I can relax knowing it's just in my head

Hi there Laura

Nice to c u back, although not too many of us come here very often. Hope all is ok with you!
I suggest that you call them asap (as long as you guys live there too) and just tell them you are concerned about the possibility that maybe they have your address wrong.
Try this, at least you get out of the suspicion!
We still haven't got any AOR or word from our VO. We are waiting though and who knows.....

Regards

Tom

no - you don't have to leave. As long as you have applied for an extension of your visa before your current visa expires, you are allowed to stay in Canada until you hear back about your extension. It's called implied status. So - you don't need to leave Canada now, you just need to wait until you hear back about the extension. If the extension is granted, you can stay. If the extension is not granted ( quite rare for visa-exempt applicants who have applied for PR through family sponsorship) then they will give you a timeframe indicating when you need to leave the country. So until then - you're OK.

Sydney is one of the fastest VO - and not hearing back is not necessary a bad thing. As you're visa-exempt, you don't need to send your passport. You might just wake up one day to Decision made on ecas, and then you know that your COPR is on its way. 3 months is not much though - give it at least 1 more month before you start to be anxious about it! :)

also remember - the time indicated in the website is the time that it takes to process 80% of the applications. Which means that a lot of people get done before that. It's not an average... so it doesn't mean much. You could be within the 20% of the applications that get done in 3 months, or within the 30% that get done in 4, etc etc...

It looks very quiet here. I haven't checked in a while. I guess many folks are in that long stretch of waiting to know what is happening. That seems to be what bothers most folks, not knowing if your application is being worked on, if they lost your file, if the officer quit and threw all our work in the bin

(I think that's unlikely.) From viewing different boards on this forum and reading some other forums, this long wait with no communication is the process thousands of others have gone through.

So I hope everyone is hanging tight, managing their worries / nerves, and making the best of their days.

I hope the notifications pick up soon.
It'll happen ... soon, I hope, for everyone. :)

It is too quiet in here!! We can't be dropping to page 2 or 3. lol

What is everyone doing to keep busy and not lose their minds while we wait?

Me, I'm busy packing for my move. I plan to be in Canada waiting it out with my wife in a little over 2 months. :)

On another topic, has anyone from the US looked at getting the Nexus pass? I applied the other day for my son and I. It is only $50 for me (kids under 18 are free). Supposedly it helps you get through the border super quickly. I hope so anyway!! I hope that if I get it I can avoid the million questions from the IO's at the border about where I'm going, who I'm seeing, blah blah blah. Time will tell I guess!!

Buffy - I have a NEXUS card (though I got it in Canada) and it is great. Makes border crossings a breeze.
