quick question....I am getting married in Feb. Should I change my wifes surname on her passport before adding her to my application? it will take months to change her surname
Hi. Me and my husband applied under cec in feb 2013 and recently got passport request. I never changed my last name. We submitted the canadian marriage certificate and thts it. Didnt face any issues. Its your call. Am just telling my experience....

Guys, I've been following these forums for a few days now and this is my first post here. I have a couple questions so I could more actively part-take in these discussions:
1. How do you have all those details about your applications showing under your name. I tried looking around this site and couldn't find a way of hardcoding those into my profile.
2. Can we include a tracker sheet in this discussion? I don't think I see any.

So here are my PR application details:
Application Sent: 23-02-2013
AOR: 08-04-2013
Application Received by CEC: 27-02-2013
RCMP Clearance Requested: 22-08-2013
RCMP Clearance Received: 17-09-2013

In the meantime, I've completed my medical exam (upfront) for the BOWP. I emailed the Immigrations office to ask them if I could send out the medical exam results to them upfront so they have it on record. They asked me to hold on to it till they requested it.

Still awaiting a response from the visa office for the MR. This process is awfully slow and painful! lol

Welcome to the forum/ discussion.
You need 10 posts before you unlock the ability to post your details under your user name. Secondly, there is already a google doc spreadsheet where you can post your details to a tracker. Not sure if its locked. Go through the posts and you will find the link to the tracker. It might be in the signature of some feb applicants. If you cannot modify the sheet, just post your details and I'm sure the owner/s will update tracker for with your info :)

There is a link in my signature :)

Just updated my info on the tracker. I've noticed that whoever has their status as "App Received" haven't received their MR yet, while those with other statuses such as "In Process" have received their MR. Is there a difference between these applications? How do they behave differently and what are the differences in timelines between the two applications.

In addition, how long does it usually take to get the PR card after the Visa office has received the applicant's MR?

This is not 100% correct, but these days I observed that people who get their medicals for them Application Status has changed to Inprocess.

I received my MR over a month ago, and my status is still Application Received.

Hi all,

The latest update on my application is that I have recently received an appointment with the endocrinologist for early Feb after which my results will be sent to CIC for further process. Hoping for a fast decision time after that. Also my 60 months time line to complete medicals ends on Feb 5 for which I have already sent a email to CIC to provide extension but have not yet received a reply. Will I be provided an extension? How long should I wait before sending a reminder?

You mean 60 days? Yes they will provide an extension. What you should do is send them an email with an attachment which your doctor gave as a referral...

Hello friends,
I have great news to share- I received my COPR on 10 Jan 2014 and have successfully completed the landing formalities last evening- 12 Jan 2014.
Landing was a breeze at the Rainbow bridge, just went to other side filled gas and turned back to Canada. Being a weekend, there were hardly any people at the border, the formalities at the CBSA office took about 15 mins in all.
I had the documents- employment letter, Pay stubs, bank statement along with the COPR and passports, but the officer just asked for the COPR. She just asked about my employer. She also asked if there were goods to follow and I had prepared the B4 form and submitted to the Customs officer. We were asked to sign the COPR and informed that the PR card will be mailed in 6-8weeks to our address.

I have been fortunate, that the entire process went smooth, it took about 11 months (Application received on 10 Feb 2013 and landing on 12 Jan 2014). The initial wait till we hear about medicals from CIC is killing, but then on things started to roll faster.

I have been following this Forum and learnt a lot of things about the PR process and clarified several questions that I had by going through the pages. I would like to thank all the members for sharing their queries/concerns/inputs/opinions, so that others could learn from it.
We have made this journey together, I wish everyone the best of luck and hope the rest of the members do not have to wait tooo long for the PR.
I will stick around in the forum to be aware of the latest progress and probably help out with any questions.

cheers!!

Congrats Rao82...11 months, gives us all hope who are waiting to hear from CIC.

Got my Visa in the mail today! Goodluck to everyone!
