police certificates anyone?

Hi,
Patiently waiting. Honestly, maybe it is because Canada has been my home for over 10 years, but the wait has gone by so fast so far! I still kick myself because about 2 years out of those 10 are down to me, for not being a resident yet. But I digress...
I recently switched jobs, and my new company used an immigration solicitor (after I'd applied). She basically justified herself by bringing up some concerns with my application that didn't turn out to be valid because I got my new permit and everything worked out (some NAFTA jazz). One thing she did say, is that I should get my police clearance certificates sent up from Mexico BEFORE CIC asks, which she guarantees they will. I have been in Canada for over 10 years, but I did officially live in Mexico for a year after I was 18. I haven't noticed any talk about this in the forum; my understanding was that you just waited for them to ask for any RCMP clearance if required, if you'd been here for a while.
I'm actually trying to be proactive for a change haha
I did ask a fellow Mexican that got her residence a couple of years back, and she said she had to make a request in Mexico, but she hadn't been here for half as long as me (I know...) and she had lived in Mexico for quite a while after turning 18.
It's not too bad to go to the Police Station and ask them for fingerprints to send to Mexico for a records check to be sent to CIC later on by them.
Hopefully, I didn't convolute what really is a simple question.
Cheers everyone from lovely Vancouver

It's difficult to say whether they will or won't request a police certificate from your time in Mexico. Technically, they require police certificates from all countries you've lived in since 18. I, for instance, sent a set of certificates with my application, but was still waiting for my FBI certificate from the States, which I sent to them afterwards, before they requested it. The problem is if they make a request, you never know how long it's going to take them to come around to your file again. If it's not too much trouble, I would just get the certificate and send it.

The rule of thumb is if you stayed in that particular country more than 6 mo after 18 yo, get police certificate and send them to ottawa. I submitted all mine WITH the application, and saved time. you have to submit it within 3 mo of getting it from them. Just do it before they ask, once cic asks, it may take longer for processing.

Anybody did medical outside of Canada ?

Did the doctor send results to local consulate or Ottawa?

Did you notify Ottawa that you did medical outside of canada ?

Although I got response from Ottawa that my wife's medical from trv can be reused, I don't see that detail in gcms because her details are hidden / masked.

Thanks!

Hi Congratz.. when did you submit your passport to CIC? I want ti check the duration they take to issue the visa..

Hi,
I submitted it to CHC, New Delhi thro' VFS Canada. It took only 3 days! I really appreciate it!
Before that I requested them to change visa office to CHC, New Delhi. Then they instructed me to submit passport to Delhi thro' VFS.

Got the PPR request just now. They have asked for 2 photos with it.

There is no mention of biodata form anywhere. So, I guess biodata is not required?
