Hi everyone -

I was going to apply in Feb but now I'm a bit confused. My PGWP was issued in Feb 2012 and I now have 12 months of work experience. However, my degree wasn't officially conferred till May. Am I eligible to apply if Feb? How would CIC know the convocation date if we are not required to submit the transcripts now.

Thank you!

Lena741, Please read the below thread very carefully before you proceed further. I thought this thread might give you some inputs about the situation you are in.

My application reached CIO yesterday. I updated the info on the spreadsheet.. :)

Good luck to us all!

Hey CEC2013, why did you include an RCMP background check? I thought it asked for clearance for countries other than canada..

Little teary and sweaty palms, but MAILED OFF TODAY!

Hi I started my job Feb. 6 but I sent my document on Feb. 4 my application was dated Feb. 3.
You think it would be fine? I sent to Nova Scotia though :(

I think my application would reach Nova Scotia by Thursday.

Yep, one only needs a PCC from outside of Canada, unless otherwise requested. I just wanted to cover my bases, since my employment is with a government agency. Plus, it was painless...electronic fingerprints taken/transmitted and received results in less than a week.

Also included a PCC from home and FBI. 8)

Hello Everyone,

I'm new on this forum but I'm so grateful for all the experiences and information shared here.
I've just sent my application to Sydney this morning so now the wait begins....

Spreadsheet updated.

Thank you Andy2109!!

I have another question though (regarding birth certificate).

I have my original D.O.B certificate issued to me when I was a kid.
I was wondering if that would be sufficient or do I need to request to Indian Consulate for a new one or if I can use something else like my High School Diploma as that also has my D.O.B along with photo (I am not sure if photo is really needed or not).

Please and Thank you,
prashant7

prashant7,

The basic doc evidencing your DOB is the Birth Certificate. If you have your Birth Certificate which has your full name, DOB and your parent's name (either Father, Mother or both)... this fulfills the requirement. BC with or without photo... makes no difference.
If you do not have your BC (missing details or mispelt), then as an alternate, you can submit a copy of your school record with the above details.
If you do not have your BC and also your school record (missing details or mispelt), submit an Affidavit.
