WEEEE! We will be sending our package next week (Rome visa office)....just waiting for the Option C....which will be here next Tuesday.

I have a question regarding payments:

Did you all pay the $1040 all together? Or did you pay separately? We saw this on our visa office's website:

"Applicants for permanent residence can pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee ($490) at the time they submit their application or at a later date when requested. The processing fee is still required when submitting an application."

Will it slow our process down? It would be nice to pay them separately, but we don't want anything to slow down the processing time! Anyone pay separate?

Hello all

As this is a new thread and everyone here actually starts now I like to wish that we all get our PR's soon and reunite with our loved ones

I am happy to announce that just a few hours ago I mailed our apps from Greece! Now my spouse and I can join the ranks of waiting to get our approvals quickly!

Regards

We've paid separate. Mainly due to me being already in Canada, not able to work and money is tight. However it will slow up things a little, as CIC will have to write back and aske for the other half in order to get your PR papers.

Good luck with your application.

Hey, can I be added to this thread?
Sent my husbands application off yesterday, FINALLY!!!

Hi all,
I know new requirements came into force in October, one being: remaining together for two years AFTER you gain PR - I understand that.
However I'm a little confused as to what this means: (quote from CIC web site)........

Maintaining legal status

Spouses and common‑law partners of Canadian citizens and permanent residents in Canada who wish to apply for permanent resident status are no longer required to have legal immigration status provided that they have an eligible sponsor. All other eligibility requirements continue to apply.

For me, does this mean I no longer have to renew my VR every six months while I'm waiting for the PR to be processed?

Thanks,
Col.

Hmm. I dunno about that. I always figured we have to maintain our status in canada if we are applying outland. Maybe this is an inland thing. Maybe more senior members can help.

And charlie13 ill happily add you to the thread. Just say what vo you are applying through. When yr meds were done, when you sent it and when it was received. You can then update me as your application progresses and ill add it to the spreadsheet which can be seen in my signature.

Hello Everyone,
Am happy reading all your posts on here and it gives me strength to wait patiently for the final news. I have been waiting for interview date since May 2013 and recently my husband sent additional documents (emails & photos) hoping that these documents help to waive the interview. May be soon they will communicate and with God's grace by December i will be with my husband in Canada.
Lets keep praying for each other please.
Good luck.
