The file is in queue for a first revision. Following the review, we will know the next steps. The situation of a sponsor or a pregnant applicant is fairly common in the queue for processing sponsorship applications of spouses, and therefore can not justify priority treatment.
This request will be processed in the same priority as other applications submitted at the same time. The submission date is February 13, 2012. For current processing times and up-to-date, please visit our website at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp. I hope you find this information useful and will help you meet your constituents. Sincerely, Kristin L. Erickson

Just today we got an AOR e-mail from Vienna. Later than we expected, but good to know it's arrived. I just hope there aren't any hiccups from this point on... we dragged out feet a bit with the application, and have only 4 months left till the medicals expire. Won't be the end of the world if we have to do another one, but it'd be nice to know sooner than that!

Guerrich, that is great that you got an AOR from you VO office....at least you know it is arrived and in the right spot!!!! ;D

We got an AOR from Vienna office on July 11 it says if we don't hear anything from them in 3 months time to contact the office. Does anyone have an idea how much longer it will take to get approved from the date of the AOR?

It could have been an email acknowledgment notifying that the passport has been received by the ND office. Someone on the ND 2012 forum said they received an email acknowledgement upon ND receving their passport. Although, ND VO office does not normally send out an acknowledgment of receipt upon receiving the passport some lucky ones have been getting them! So, it could have been as simple as that. Now, the question is where did that email disappear to? Have you asked your husband to thoroughly check his inbox including the Spam folder?

Personally if I were you I wouldn't have approached the MP yet. Wait at least couple of months or longer after the passport was sent in, before even starting to worry about the status of the application. Remember, the processing time according to CIC website is 8 months for ND VO. Following up within in a month after the PP was mailed in that through an MP doesn't really help the situation! Hence, you got the generic reply back through the MP.

Sounds like an email for someone else and was sent to you mistakenly. I'd write them back examining you never emailed. Are you or your spouse pregnant?
