Good Day All,

I just got the approval letter today dated May 23, 2012. No, I didn't get any email from them. My application was received by CIC on Feb 24, 2012. Woohoo... I am so happy!! Finally after 3 loooonnnngggg months a news to share! The letter states that "I have met all the requirements" to sponsor my wife and the application has been forwarded to New Delhi office... I wonder how long it will take now?

Btw... just to recap an old discussion... I did not put "NONE" under children section in the "Additional Family Information" form.
Congrats! I am glad that not putting NONE caused no problems for you.

New Delhi is fast so get ready! =)

Congratulations .... good to hear that "NONE" is not delaying the process :)

Indocan- Congratulations, glad to hear you got approval. Your process has finally begun, good luck with the rest of it, hope it goes quickly for you.

Hi Lambchop,
My daughter is just getting married 26JUN12 in Cuba to her fiancee. We are preparing the immigration papers to take with us, so get his documents and signature. This way when we come back my daughter can submit everything to CIC-M.
Our worry is that even though by CIC she does not require a minimum income, but maybe her being university student and having just part-time job could be a factor. She lives at home with us and when her husband finally gets here (hopefuly soon) they will live with us for a couple of years. So would it help if us, parents would attach an affidavit to her Sponsorship package stating that we are covering her and her fiancee/husband financially?
Perhaps ir is just a paranoia, I heard people got accepted as sponsor without even part time job, just as university student. Biut I guess it is rare.
Thanks ::)

Thank you canadiangirl78, Jafffna and chickie72.

Yes, I am hoping it will be soon for New Delhi office to process it. Can't wait for that BIG day!

Congrats Indocan

Supportmama, other folks on the forum or the CIC call centre are better informed than I am on the subject. Your daughter's situation is a fair bit different from my own.

My spouse and I followed a similar approach to your daughter in preparing the papers in advance. We are very grateful that we did and we filed our application about one week after I returned to Canada following our marriage and honeymoon.

I wish your daughter a wonderful wedding! We had a beautiful wedding in Cuba. We couldn't have asked for a better day.

By the way, have you taken care of all of her paperwork with the Cuban Embassy/Consulate in Canada that she requires for her Cuban marriage certificate?

I guess they will clear all February applications soon. Good luck all..

Supportmama, could you not be a co-applicant on there? I think that is like a co-signer.

Errrr..whats wrong with CIC. Why aren't they updating the site? I don't know when they will start working on Feb 13 applicants. It's so frustrating. :(

They only update on Thursday even if they miss a week.

Hello there.

My husband and I are young he is a student without a job, he sponsored me and he got approved. As long as she meets all the requirements she will be fine.
