Congrats we are writing the exam on the same day it seems. My approach is this :

1) Start by reading the Citizenship book at least once( I will read it twice) - Make sure to read everything even the picture messages.

2) Watch the citizenship video posted here which summarizes sections of the book you will learn :

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA_kBhBkaMXLFteh-MC_Gaw

You want to read the Canadian Citizenship Exam Lecture series from chapter 1 - 10.

3) Following this you can take the practice tests located at :

a) http://citizenshipcounts.ca/ and
b) http://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship/

4) Once you have come that far you should be more than comfortable with all the material you can read the book once more 2 days before the test.

Seems I read your date wrong you are writing your exam on 9th Sept I will be writing it on the 8th. But best of luck nonetheless.

You are right, I am writing on 9th and your are writing on 8th. You are a day ahead from me.

Best of Luck to you as well. :)

hi guys can i know where your office location would be?

ive been trying to keep uptodate with different peoples timelines,
but alot of people have already received their test dates even though my file has been in process longer
so i'm really worried.

it doesn't say where my office location is, but my mailing address is Toronto

my file went into processed June 1st and transferred June 5th

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated as i am super worried at this point.

Thanks!

Hi kimba,
We're 3 days apart in almost all stages. I'm in mississauga and still waiting too.

I finally got my e cas to work! I was entering Unites Kingdom and Colonies as my place of birth not knowing there was an option for ENGLAND which then worked! Nothing exciting though... Just says In process since May 21st ???

Any idea as what will be the reason as my application is still showing a "received" status. Should I call CIC and wait? I applied in Feb 2015 and region is Regina/Saskatoon.

Any other person from same have region has same problem?

Received today a letter to appear to 1st Sept Oath Ceremony in Montreal !

Ecas shows the same information today.

I'll keep you updated !

I have a question...

I see a lot of people mentioning an interview once they have done their tests... Does everyone have to have an interview after the test? I thought you only have to do a test and the interview is for select people who they question their language skills?

Everyone has to go through an interview after the test. Basically, they will briefly check your entry-exit stamps on passports, CoPR and ID's. Hence, you will be asked to bring all the original docs that you submitted before with the application.

Does anyone know if it would be an issue, as I think I accidentally sent in my old license photocopy which had my old residentially address changed. However my old residentially n current mailing address was the same when I applied, until recently my mailing address changed too and I informed CIC about it and also did mail forwarding in case. :s so I just send in my new liecnse copy(2yrs) or just wait for my test date.

I have passed the citizenship test yesterday. My test result was 19 correct answers out of 20 questions. Guy read Discover Canada at least once and take the test seriously. You can pass if you prepare for it. This is neither easy nor difficult but you have to prepare for the test.

Congratulations man! i always thought we'd receive the oath the same day as our application is almost identical..looks like you beat me to it...maybe mine will come by mail today.

This morning I took my oath of citizenship at the Kitchener office. 53 new citizens, from 28 different countries. I got choked up several times...but still managed to say the oath to complete my citizenship process. ;)

I want to thank the many members on this board who have given their time to offer advice, congratulations, consolation, and other means of support. I don't exaggerate when I say that I wouldn't have my citizenship today without this board. I participated in this forum when I was applying for permanent residency, but after that I stopped checking in as often. When the new citizenship bill passed, I erroneously thought that it went into effect immediately and that therefore I was still a couple of years away from being able to apply for citizenship. It's only because I happened to check in on this forum again that I found out that the new citizenship law hadn't yet been put into place, and that I was then eligible for citizenship under the old rules. So I put together my application as fast as I could and sent it off. And today I'm a citizen, thanks to the info this message board provided me.

Best of luck to everyone. I hope I can help with as much advice for friends in the middle of the process as you've all given me.
