I attached a letter explaining that my 9 years old has no phto ID except his passport, which obviously was attached....that was good enough for them and his application was accepted...Good luck...

Hi Guys, so just out of interest I called CIC to see if they had any updates.

The agent told me my file is still in Nova Scotia and they have not started processing it yet. BUT he did say something about when it starts processing they will send it to Mississauga!

According to my calculations I should be getting my file in process next week. Seems it takes about a month between received and In Process

Good luck to us all!

That was my assumption before but I do not think that will be so Dec applicants are still moving to In process and getting moved to Test or local office still and no updates or news on the Jan batch so far.

Hi Samreen :)

He did also say that the ecas was unreliable and better to call and check on the status. So, you might want to call them next week too! :D

I'm thinking that the ones in Dec. might be treated differently due to fee increase and also the people in Jan. might not have called and checked. Worth a try anyway ;)

Wow! That's a great news! Congrats Passion2015! It is a good thing that you didn't submit your second application. I hope your application moves forward swiftly hereafter!

Congrats was it for the original or the duplicate app? You could tell from the date of receipt and the delivery date ...

It was for original one I sent in Feb.
I have not yet received for my wife, and hoping in next of couple of days..

I want to share my timeline:

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on February 19, 2015.

2. We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 17, 2015. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3. We started processing your application on March 26, 2015.
Your file was transferred to the Citizenship Vancouver office on March 29, 2015. The Citizenship Vancouver office will contact you.

Good luck to all of us.

Hi everyone,

This is what I see when I check my status online:
1- We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on February 5, 2015.

2- We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 9, 2015. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

It still says "Received". I see that a lot of applicants have their files in "Processing" status, approximately 1 week after the letter of receipt is sent. I am a bit worried that my file is not getting processed yet. Should I call or wait?

Thanks,
Baris

Hey ScubaC...did you also ask what date that are up to in opening AOR's to make them IP's?

Its getting to the point of "Don't call us - we'll call you" when dealing with CIC. If they want extra info or if they decide in transferring my file - they will let me know.

My status, looked up online by online payment receipt number:
"""
1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on February 5, 2015.

2. We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 7, 2015. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
"""

But the physical "letter acknowledging receipt" is still missing as of today (April 15). Is this still considered normal delays in Canada Post?

Losers and jerks... what you call yourself? a winner?
It was the right answer for that "winner" questions.

Good luck and keep it up.
