I will also be sending my diploma and transcript and certificate of graduation from my college in the Philippines, all in English. (BS Accountancy)
I don't have a letter stating that the medium of instruction is in English though. I've been reading around and got different responses, some saying they had no problems with this language proof, some say they had theirs returned. I guess it depends on the officer reviewing the application. I hope mine gets accepted ! ::)

I was in India on vacation a couple months ago and I managed to get the instruction letter while there. So attached it.

Like you rightly said, it depends on the concerned officer. Hopefully, he wouldn't expect IELTS or equivalent.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Does anyone know if minors' passports have to be translated? Are the documents relating to minors checked at the time of interview?

Interested in knowing if homemakers have to send additional documents to prove physical presence.

Personally, I didn't send any. My absence record and CBSA record have no discrepancies, although I took another trip lasting 16 days after I obtained the CBSA record.

Can't you just write a letter to CIC stating the same? Attach a copy of your passport held prior to marriage as well as your marriage certificate. Even your degree certicates, I presume, would have your maiden name (as mine does). Mention you are in the process of getting all IDs changed to your married name. As long as you can prove you are the same person and show continuity as far as documents are concerned, it should be alright.

The application form also asks for other names you have used in the past. So I think having IDs in both names are fine especially if you haven't been married long.

As far as support documents go, can't you use something besides your Alberta id - which has either your maiden name or your proper married name? Like your new passport and your PR card or D.L. (whichever has the right name). That would be a wiser move.

Did you speak to CIC reps about this matter?

Pelipeli,

For my kids, I provided the PR card as photo ID besides the health card because they don't have photo IDs. So I've provided the PR card copy twice for different purposes.

I'm not sure if a health card is a mandatory piece of ID. If it's not, you can avoid the health card. Do they ask for it specifically? (I don't really remember, I provided health card and driving licence).

If it is just 2 IDs, one with a photo, (they mention it should be one which has your photo, name and date of birth and another which need not have a photo) you can provide passport and PR card which have the requisite details.

Did you manage to find out if health card is required or other IDs are sufficient?

Oh shoot. Totally forgot to ask that . AAArggghhh. I was distracted by another problem, which is my PR card and Landing document, and apparently their CIC records too, is showing a truncated name .

Husband's application was received at Sydney on Monday. He was eligible to apply since July 4, 2014 (I got a chuckle out of this) but kept putting it off (he had 1263 days after absences when we applied). Then they jacked the fees up Jan 1 and I cried. Since we have a baby on the way I figured better spend the money now while we have it.
Hoping this one goes smoother than his PR application.

Applying from Langley, BC.

Good luck - both for the baby and husband's application! :)
