Hi,

You can submit either FDR photocopy (duly stamped by the concerned bank manager) or a certificate of FDR (format is just like a Bank Statement).

In either way, embassy will verify the same with the concerned bank so it doesn't matter which way you opt, but I would suggest, go for the FDR Certificate.

*I answered under the consideration that you are an Indian. I am not aware of banking procedures of other countries.

Ok, Thanks for the reply. But u mentioned to submit certificate of FDR. I have got the certificate from bank manager which indicate about my fixed deposit amount and financial solvency. Is that ok? or should I submit something else?
Plz clear me what do u mean by certificate of FDR.

Best regards
Samia

Hi,

Certificate of FDR is nothing but a 'print out' stating details like your identity, a/c number, FDR details. The said 'print out' is HUGE in size and exactly same in format like a 'Bank Statement'. In any case, embassy hold rights to cross verify your financial details.

Certified Bank Loan is the best instrument (and the safest) in comparison to FDR and Bank Statement (both these instruments can be manipulated). So, I would advise take maximum possible study loan (it doesn't matter if you actually use it or not).
