If you've never had a US student/work/ resident visa but you've spent a total of 6 months there since age 18 if you count up all your trips for vacation and work related courses there do you still need a US PCC?

How exactly do they determine if you need a PCC for a country? Do you have to list all of your travel since 18??

If you spend 6 months or more in the US, you need a US PCC. Period. Same goes for any other country. It doesn't matter whether you needed a visa or not - as long as you have entry/exit stamps in your passport showing evidence of your travel history, that is all that matters.

There are many cases where CIC has asked for PCC even if the person spent close to 6 months, like 5 month or 5 months and few days. So if someone has more than 5 months it makes sense to get the PCC ready specially from US since it takes so much time. You never know if CIC may request for it.
