I have a question about this.

I asked in a post office in Greece and they told me that the only way that I can prepay and then have something sent to me back from abroad are some coupons that I prepay here, put in the envelope with my applications etc, the FBI will find these, exchange them with stamps there and send me back the mail.

All this sounds to me as something that they might not do there! What can I do?

PS: Fedex is not a good choice for us now because of its cost and because we need at least 3 business days to open an account

Fees for the PCC from FBI includes postage in included in it.

However you can ask a courier vendor for prepaid envelope and attach it with the application.

guys it is unbelievable,

I just contacted FEDEX in Greece and they told me that we cannot open a FEDEX account in order to receive something from abroad and the only thing we can do is for me to give them the name and phone number of the person that will send me these documents, so FEDEX calls them and arrange to go pick them up and send them to us....

anyone has any idea on this?

EDIT: @ sonir, seriously? the postage is included in the 18 dollar price? But if you are suggesting me to attach a prepaid envelope doesn't this mean I have to pay this envelope? I got confused

let me ask something,

If i check the "first class mail" does this mean i don't have to pay anything extra, or send them any envelopes, coupons etc and they will just send me the replying mail on their own?

I have no idea about this....wondering why would you not be able to open an account though?

EDIT: @ sonir, seriously? the postage is included in the 18 dollar price?FBI would send the cert by regular mail at no additional charges...included in $18 But if you are suggesting me to attach a prepaid envelope doesn't this mean I have to pay this envelope? This is the option considered by people so that they can safely get the FBI cert in hand and is not lost in transit I got confused

hm then this is not a choice for us because in Greece we do not have such envelopes (as the post office told me).

So can you please tell me what i should do and which box I should check in order to let the FBI send me back the reply with the slowest possible way at no additional cost for me and without including any envelopes etc?

It is a huge risk to have no tracking # your FBI cert....what if it gets lost?

I am sure there are applicants from Greece who must have gotten their FBI and it will be a good idea to make another thread specifically trying to connect with Greek applicants for FBI. There should be a way out....

You don't have to check any box and FBI will automatically send the cert through regular mail (this does not require extra payment).

excellent, thank you. I just thought that since there are 3 boxes, I am required to choose one of them. Now at least have a choice if nothing else works out.

Hi,

I just called FEDEX and they told me that there should not be any problem to open an account from Greece.

I cannot believe those guys. 30 minutes ago a lady from FEDEX gr was trying to convince me that "we cannot open an account for you for importing something from abroad, only to send. Your only choice is to provide us with the name and phone number of the person who wants to send you something and we will arrange to pick it up"....

I will call them again... unbelievable greece...

_______

About the mail... I was just told that first class mail is the cheapest available (30 cents) and there is nothing lower than this. Is this true? What is this "regular mail" i read in a previous post? too confusing!
