all you need is FBI PCC. When you mail out all the PCC's the Canadian consulate will request you for state PCC's if they require it.

Right now, just work on getting the FBI PCC.

OR
I can apply from my current town and mentioned that I stayed all above thoese states for some months even not > 6months...
still not understand that I have to go all 5 states to collect FBI report or from one place I can apply for all 5 states FBI report.

Ok...i'm gonna make 1 more attempt in explaining it to you.

1. Download the cover letter from the website i provided in the earlier msg.
2. Go to a local law enforcement agency or authorized fingerprinting agency and have all 10 fingerprints taken on their (not FBI's) fingerprint card.
3. Mail the cover letter, finger print card and $18 money order or Credit card authorization to the address mentioned in the website.
4. Wait 12-15 weeks. Hopefully you will have all other PCC's ready by then.
5. Send the PCC's to the Canadian consulate.
6. If the Canadian consulate requests the state police clearence certificates its only then you need to apply for them. From what i gather, the state PCC's are easy to get.

You do not need to take time off work and drive to every state. That would be beyond torture :p

Good luck!

You do not need to travel to all the states. It is possible that you will not even need the state certificates, but if you do, it will only be the states where you have lived for at least 6 months.

The states that I have looked at can be ordered online and it appears that the report is delivered to you instantly over the Internet. Every state has different requirements and different fees. I know that New York requires fingerprints, but the other 2 states I looked at do not.

Well, I'm not sure if you'd be considered a resident of California, but it seems to me that 8 months is a very long time to be considered a "visit". If you worked for a California company or rented an apartment, i is possible that you "lived" there.

If you need to apply for a California police check, go here:

Yes, I would recommend that you call some expert. You have a lot of legal documents in California, like the home rental, the birth of the baby, etc. It is possible that you can be considered to be living in California at that time. I guess it depends on what Immigration Canada thinks.
