If anyone can give me assistance with the following doubts I would be very greatful!
My family and I lived in Ontario for 3 years on a work permit. My younger daughet was born in Canada (she has a Canadian Passport). We applied for CEC in Apr 2011 before we left the country, all documents were sent to Buffalo. We now live in our country in Southamerica.
Have done medicals in OCT11 and CIC, they got them, then requested my FBI record in DEC11 informing me that, I quote: "You have 90 days to submit these documents at which time a decision will be taken on your file".
They recieved the record in Buffalo at the end of March12 - Our application is still "in process".
Questions:
My record came with an insident my mother and I had in 1990 (22 years ago). We illigaly attempted to corss the MX-US border and were detained by US authorities. I was 15 years old at the time. My father had US PR and they let us free and attened US immigration court until we left the US voluntarely in 1993.
Today I travel to the US for work several times a year with no issues.
Can this issue have an impact on my application? Hope not as it was many years ago and I was a minor then.
Does anybody know how long CIC in Buffalo will take to make a final decition? They got my record on Mar 29 2012.
What next steps should we expect? an Interview with the Canadian consulate in our country? or not?
