Hi,

Does anyone have trouble getting FBI PCC?. My fingerprints have been rejected twice due to its poor quality. I have sent another package recently. One can only hope that it will work this time. Major downside is that, it takes 16 weeks for them to get back to say it didn't work!. Is there any other way to do it?. Can I apply to RCMP via post and have them do a background check instead?. I'm in the US and I have applied to New Delhi VO. I'm at my wit's end. Seems like there's no easy way to do this.

PS: Does anyone know if there's a FBI field office in the states that offers digital scan for fingerprints?. Honestly, I wouldn't mind traveling to another state to get this done at this point. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

I've heard of people having this problem, but they always recommend you send multiple fingerprint cards for this reason. Did you use the same place both times? Maybe they don't know what they are doing.

I know the US has tons of digital fingerprint locations, plus the police departments often have them, for instance my husband had it done in some weird tiny little police station in the Washington panhandle, and there are private places that do it. Just google it for your state.

Are you sending the ink and roll fingerprints or the electronic fingerprints? I would suggest going to a fingerprint company which does the electronic ones because those are more accurate and I have request 2 FBI requests both times I used electronic fingerprints and both times they were accepted.

I went to the local police station both times and took multiple sets of prints. you're right. I might have to try a different location to see if that might help. Technique differs from person to person. Another choice would be to go to the local digital fingerprinting place. But I'm wondering the VO will accept if it came through a digital fingerprint channeler?. I guess it would still go to FBI. Wondering if there's a difference in reporting etc. Truth be told, I have been working on this paperwork since January and it's gotten me more paranoid. I can't even begin to explain how frustrating this really is. It probably reflects on my post too. :(

The FBI accepts digital fingerpints. There's a specific card they go on that the fingerprinting agency should print them out on. My wife did that with no issues.

Send them a channeler report but i would also order a police clearance directly from the FBI at the same time in case they dont accept the channeler report. Not sure the timeline but when i received my clearance is May 2015, it took 3 months.

The FBI does accept the digital fingerprints, it doesn't matter where you have it done as long as they are on the correct paper, like I said we did it once with no problem. The channelers that CIC is referring to when they say they don't accept 3rd party police certificates are the ones that can do the actual FBI database lookup, nothing to do with how you get your fingerprints done.

Thank you all!. I'm going to request a fresh set of prints from a different Police station and try digital printing as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I went to the police station and the jailer did it. They said he does them every time they get a prisoner and it was a busy police station.. So I got rolled prints, 5 sets of them (because I see how many people have problems with them being rejected) and sent them in July 8th but haven't heard back yet.

Definitely get digital prints. You can Google a place near you that does it. I went to this place: https://www.fingerscan.ca/

They rolled my fingers on the scanner thingie and it was only around $40. I only got one set of prints and the FBI accepted them no problem.

The old fashioned Ink and roll fingerprint doesn't seem to work at all. The local police station do it on regular basis but they aren't very patient when they roll the prints. There were smudge issues first time. Then I had to request another set of prints. Both came back as poor quality. I wish the local FBI field offices had this facility. It would be easy to enter it into the database too. Just my two cents.

I think I will go to a police station that has digital and have them done again cause now I'm scared the rolled prints will be bad. Is it the same form? Will they give me the form with the digital prints on it so i can mail in myself? TY

your prints might be good but I'd also take digital fingerprints just to be sure. Because it takes a long time for them to get back to us with the results. Ink and roll? - The same forms that are available at the police station, yes.

Yes on July 8th I sent 5 sets of ink and roll done at the police station. Tomorrow I will go and get digital and send in. Thank you.
