Also another thing i wanted to check, when my wife's first application fingerprints were found illegible, I received an email from FBI for the same but never any letter or response for it. Do we still get a letter from FBI even in case of rejection of fingerprints?

Hi, i sent the FBI clearance report on 10.11.2017, then I submitted my application on 1.12.2017 with an explanation letter that explained that the FBI Clearance takes 3 months. Yesterday I got the request letter from the office of immigration that requested the FBI clearance my 14.02.2018, if I do not receive it my application will be refused. I know that they are now processing September and with the holidays I do not think that the report will come on time. What can be done in such cases?

We are unable to locate your request at this time.

The current processing time for an FBI Background Check is taking 14-16 weeks to complete from the date the request was received. It can take 14+ weeks for a request to clear our security process, so we are not able to see the request in our system until then.

At this time we are opening mail we received on approximately 09/13/2017. We are unable to verify the delivery of a package until it is opened. If you submitted your request by courier (Fed Ex, UPS, or USPS), please view their web site to verify delivery.

Unfortunately, no requests can be expedited at this time due to the amount of work. All responses are mailed through the US Postal Service First Class Mail please allow standard mailing time (three weeks in the US and four weeks outside the US) to receive the response. There is no tracking number with the US Postal Service First Class Mail. Responses cannot be emailed.

When checking again for a status update, please be sure to supply your full name and date of birth.

[end]

Looks like they cannot tell the status of your application or delivery confirmation etc until they actually open your envelope. So i guess their response is good only for getting the current date....

Looking for folks with similar wait time from card charged to mail delivery.
Application Delivered: Aug 28th
Card Charged: Dec 4th
Mail sent: Dec 6th

My wife FBI PCC was delivered on Dec 9th but mine is still pending. Called FBI and got a response that wait for 3 weeks i.e. until Dec 27th and call back for re-issue the PCC. Wondering if anyone else faced such long wait times to receive PCC.
