Alright, so I am down to just 15 more days before they get to mine.
C'mon FBI, don't let me down now please

Is it true that you can apply for FBI PCC only after ITA is issued ? If you have applied before ITA is issued, how long is it valid for ?

You can apply for it before- in fact, given how long it takes to get one, you must apply for it before the ITA is even issued.
It is valid for one year after it was originally issued.

A small addition here. It is valid indefinitely for Canada immigration if it was obtained after you left US and you did not visit US after its issuance.

Hi,

I sent my fingerprints to FBI on April 1st. Fingerprints were done at a local Sheriff's office using the ink method. I will send another request to FBI in case my fingerprints might get rejected.

What method work the best in terms of minimizing the rejection possibility? Digital or ink? Has anyone tried digital scan to get FBI PCC? How does it work?

Thanks

My much awaited update: finally got through this pcc process after a long try and retry of 6 months ! :)

here is the time line
second application reached: 10-Feb-2016
CC Charged: 02-May-2016
Report sent: 04-May-2016
Received: 16-May-2016
received the report at my Bangalore address.

My lessons learned: (may not be new one)

Finger Printing: Take a little time to get to know what the process actually is before jumping to close it. (my case i was a little misguided by just strictly following instruction, did it myself and i found this forum months after i sent it. I admit I'm not a fingerprinting expert)
If you think FBI would just need some bits and pieces of your finger prints that is wrong. Do not assume that they are going to just take your prints as an unknown sample to match against their database. But it is the other way around also, they want to make a database out of your prints to match against all unknown. (hence the requirement for being it taken most legitimately.)
It's ok if you have to delay for 2-3 days (even a week) to get a proper finger printing done rather than rushing to sent it there first. you can also send one quickly first (if self made) but do follow it up with one done from a professional.

Address: Do not panic if you feel you stay in remote part of the world where postal is slower than snail. There are some things which are under our control and some which are not. I guess CIC already know this, which means if you feel there is delay in receiving the report to your address that is still ok than asking a third person to receive it, open it, scan it. (may not be same to all and i might be wrong)
At the end you are the only person who will want the report at the most and if the third person take it that seriously and care in receiving it then it is fine. Just that, you can still justify delay in receiving at your address than a reason of miss handling from the third person. (I was lucky, i think i had one of the fastest delivery to my India address compared to others)

All the best guys !!

Thanks for the lesson learn,

I have a question, i took also my fingerprints by my self two week ago but i really took care to get them ok, it took me 3 hours to get those fingerprints and also i sent two sets of fingerprints, do you think i need to re send my fingerprints done by an expert or do you think i have a chance?

Thnak you in advance.

Strongly advice that you get it done from a professional. I thought, I had done a good job by myself ; but then I went to a professional and they were a whole different level.

If you have the liberty to wait for another 3 to 4 months to get a US PCC in case the current ones are rejected then I can not think of any reason why you to need to go to a professional right now.

Hi Virginia: Is there a typo in dates ? Is report dispatched on 23rd or 19th May ?
