U said 21 Feb. I think it was typo. U probably meant 21 March. My eyes got a glitter to read second extension word. I m not verge of asking second extension. Can u plz explain. I mean did u put LOE in upload portal? After how many days did they reply? And did they generate new button for upload on my CIC. Please guide.
My deadline is 14 March. And I m sure I will not get it by then. Please share ur extension experience.

Sorry for all the confusion..too much sleep on a weekend idles the brain for sure..!

Yes..it is 21st March actually and it is not the 2nd but 1st normal extension i got..I dont have the information for the 2nd extension process but if your CC has already been charged and you are having an US address, you might get it by 14th March. Else I think you can just submit the LOE with proof of CC charged and a mail from the FBI that your report has been mailed. That should suffice.

My final FBI report timeline:

Application received by FBI: Nov 4, 2015
Credit Card charged: Feb 26, 2016
Report dispatched: Feb 29, 2016
Report received: March 5, 2016 (US address: North Carolina)

I think I already mentioned it in a prior post: I used a US mail forwarding service who opened and scanned my letter into a PDF. If anyone is interested, this is their website: https://travelingmailbox.com

They have a range of addresses to choose from, and I chose a North Carolina address because it is very close to West Virginia (where we send the application to). So, I thought I would be able to receive the report in 2-3 days after being dispatched. But as it turned out, it took 5 days to arrive at the North Carolina address.

I then took a look at the image of the envelop (which the forwarding service also scanned), and saw that it shows the letter was mailed from a New York zip code. Just in case anyone finds this info helpful ...

One last thing, my AOR was January 20, 2016. Strangely, I have so far not received any document request from CIC. So I just uploaded the report via CSE.

My card got charged. I'll call them tomorrow to ensure my fingerprints went through (though I have not received any email telling me that they didn't, so I am holding out in the hope that it all went okay), and then I wait till they get here.

Yes, the charge only showed up this morning for me, which is Sunday morning IST, but late Saturday evening Eastern Standard Time, I imagine.

Just got off the phone with the FBI. My prints were rejected.
Now I have to send in another request, and wait for another four months... meanwhile, my application with CIC continues to just sit there. What the heck, why is this process so backwards?

I took them myself.
Looks like I need to trek to the other side of the city to get them done by a professional, and then FedEx them asap. *sigh* Why does the CIC need us to submit prints? Why can they not just access their shared database with the FBI?
