Thank you sraj! Very useful!
When and where to we send that LoE to?
LoE = Letter of exemption?
One final question - I am looking at the application form and dont understand where my spouse's signature must be. Do I need another form for that?

You need to attach an LOE with your other PCC documents when submitting through MyCIC.
LOE = letter of explanation
Both your wife and you need separate applications with separate forms filled out and submitted.

But, why do you need this since you lived in US more than 10 years ago? CIC only asks for your last 10-year history.

Thanks for responding!
CIC needs PCC from every country I spent 6 months or more since the age of 18. I'm old enough to need it :)

Technically yes, but in practice NO.

I lived in many places over my lifetime and most were over 10 years ago so I did not have to put them down on my application travel history. But there were still reported on my education background and work experience. I did not submit any PCCs with my application (not express entry... it was last year) and they sent me a email asking me to provide PCCs from only the places I had lived in over the last 7 years.

So, you might not need it.

CIC specifically says in the last 10 years OR since your 18th birthday, whichever was sooner. I am assuming you were 18 more than 10 years ago, so you technically do not need this. You don't even need to mention it in your personal history. My personal history ends in 2005, although I was 22 at that time. But that's the last 10 years so why spam them with info they are not looking for. You're adding a burden to yourself.

Can you please point me to where it says that? I checked their website and there's nothing to that effect there. It would be a huge burden off my chest if I didn't have to provide PCCs from more than 10 years ago.

At least in my case, that's the wording in the post ITA questionnaire about my work, personal and travel histories. Others can confirm whether they have the same wording, but I would assume they do. Try asking on the general EE thread. You'll get a lot more insight.

Thanks. I don't have an ITA yet so I haven't seen that. I've been looking to prepare my PCCs in advance as it may take time and I guess many people are in the same boat. I'm curious as to why they don't mention that 10 years thing on their website - it would save a lot of people like me the hassle of collecting unneeded PCCs.

Yeah, that's really odd. I suggest you collect all the PCCs anyways in that case. You need to wait for a long time for FBI one so you might feel a bit more relaxed if you have that ready. You never know what they might ask for. I suppose everyone's case is different.
