Its ridiculous how we grew up watching TV series and Movies where FBI would take finger prints from soda cans and Coffee Cups. Here we provide a plain white Sheet of paper and clear finger prints Yet they cant read them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our entire Teenage was a lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:(

I cosign on this.

In fact, they are still showing the same on TV (rightly called the 'idiot box'.) :P

I just got a 2 month extension, but I am positive my PCC will not arrive (if it does) by the new deadline either. Have already hinted this to CIC.

Regards

It is easy to "read" the fingerprints manually, but the process we pay for is just to scan our prints into a machine. Of course they can read our prints but it takes a huge amount of time, to sum up, if the machine doesn't read it, they won't try to read it manually.

Hi. Can someone help me out with below please? I have just started the FBI PCC process.

1. Practical approach and tips to get the fingerprints done in Chennai. I read SCRB is one good option to pursue.

2. Anything particular to keep in mind while filing FD 258 form from ones experience? There are boxes to fill related to Originating Agency Identifier and Originating Case Agency and Miscellaneous Number. What should we fill in there?

Any help in this regard is much appreciated. Thanks!

Worried to see above comments as they can reject FPs and processing takes 4 months.

(UK PCC was lightening fast, they have opened online application and premium service takes 2 days only. They also query over emails and get the things done. I got UK PCC within 5 days from applying via normal airmail too!)

But for US PCC, first, I delayed sending PCC request as few people misguided me saying FBI wont process any application without a reference from Canada Visa office about the document request. Later after checking on this forum, I managed to send it in just a month before receiving my MR & Doc request. VO has given end date in May.. Given stricter timelines, I m thinking in past that I could have sent multiple requests over last 90 days.

I have few doubts and (dumb) ques ..
1) How/When do we know that FPs are processed. Is there any notification email or we have to call Helpline to check?
2) On call, how do they recognize which application one is talking about - by name?
3) If rejected, then next time do they process it faster?
4) How much extension VO generally provides?

Exactly!! .... I went to the Indian consulate in San Francisco and they obtained a PCC for me in an amazing (and frankly shocking) 8 days!!! :o ....and this is supposed to be a "third world" country with extreme levels of inefficiency etc. Now let's see which one is really the 3rd world country ::)

...And then we have this country called the United States (supposedly a "1st world" country ::) ::) ) ....and they need a "3rd-world-like" FOUR MONTHS??. All I can say is Wow! ....simply wow!! ::)

Trust me, I have now lived here for 22 years here in the US, and this is not exclusive to the FBI. USCIS is a hundred times worse. My USCIS green card case has been going on here for the last 17 years (including them having "lost" my file, where it "sat" in archives for almost 9 years, with no one knowing what was going on!! :o )

....and that is why after having spent over $80,000+ on lawyers, immigration fees etc. etc. and being TOTALLY FED UP with this place I applied to immigrate to Canada ::)

Has anyone called FBI lately? What is their processing date and what date they are charging the card?

I just got off the phone and he said December 31st, reluctantly :o. So I'm not sure if it's the exact number but, man, could someone have mercy and buy them an additional machine :'(?

Question for those whose Visa Office is CPP-Ottawa:

- I need to mail in my PCC. I'm based in the US and the FBI PCC took over 3 months. I have it now. Application received October 16th, PCC received November 20th 2014. I got my AOR just over 2 weeks ago and now need to mail in the PCC. What address should I mail it to?

Correspondence to date seems to be from Sydney (AOR and MR). Thoughts ? Thanks

I'm a provincial nominee not federal. My timeline is my signature if that helps with answering question

I received my FBI PCC yesterday! I was kind of worried because I had only sent one set, luckily it got accepted!

Here is my timeline:

Application sent: December 18, 2014
CC charged: March 12, 2015
Report Received in Canada: April 2, 2015

Finally going to complete all my requirements with CIC!

I went through same situation 3-4 months back...CIC gave 30 day extension, and i received my FBI copy 2 days before deadline given by CIC. One thing i had to do is to call them up consistently after 11 week time frame, and send them the extension letter given by CIC. They accommodated my request, and i got it on 13th week. ( During December 2014 the average processing time stated by FBI was 12-14 weeks ). I also opened account at Fedex and sent them in email my account number, and had them deliver in 1 day.

You can get next business day delivery from fedex or if its normal post it would be 3-5 days for most of places.

I am surprised it even took 8 days for you at the consulate. Usually they do it in on the same day, if you go in person.

After reading your ordeal of 17 years with USCIS, I wish you all the good luck with CIC.
