Yes the information is correct. It took full 3 weeks. The time I received my report , it was mentioned on the website that it would take 12 weeks. It took exactly 13 weeks to complete my report. However they may take one more week to mail the report. In my case they took 2 days to despatch. But I have seen cases where they dspatched it after 1 full week. So the maximum time it would take to process is 14 weeks ( processing time ) +1 week ( grace period) +1 week ( for mailing the report ) +3 weeks ( to reach to the destination in India ). So total time required is 19 weeks. This is the maximum time as of now. It may decrease or increase if they change the timelines in their website.

My timelines I am posting it again

Application sent to FBI : 9th Sep
Application reached FBI : 16th Sep
CC charged : 8th Oct
Search Completed : 7th Dec
Letter Date : 17th Dec
Mail Despatched : 19th Dec
Received in India: 8th Jan 2015.

From this I see that there is 2 months gap between CC charge and search completed and then another month to be received. Its really worrying because now FBI is taking 2 - 2.5 months to even charge CC.

Hello members
We are all in the same boat this FBI pcc is making me nervous, my application was received on December 4th so i will be lucky if I receive my application by April, my deadline is February 5, I got my pcc from the state of Illinois so I will send it and ask my Vo if they will consider it, I will give it a chance, now I want to send my VO a proof that I applied for the FBI, so I will send the FBI an email about status update, the question is what should I asked them in the email? When did they receive my application? Or when should I expect to receive my application?
Thanks
In the email, you should identify yourself by providing your name and mailing address ONLY
Ask for an update on the status of your request
They'll respond by stating the received date ONLY
Regards

Hi,
Could anyone please tell me what is the process to ask for extension to submit FBI PCC. My app reached FBI on 15th Oct and my deadline is 6th Feb to submit all the documents, I have not received the PCC yet and when I call they tell me its in the process and would take another 2 to 3 weeks. Could someone please suggest should I submit rest of the docs like PCC from India / RPRF fee receipt and had already done medical with the letter explaining the situation or send them an email to get the extension and then submit all the docs. if someone already got the extension from CIC Ottawa or NDVO, could you please let me know how did you approach CIC for extension for submitting the documents. any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Vikas
1- Pay your RPRF ASAP
2- Send your Indian PCC ASAP
3- Send an email at (liaison at leo dot gov) and provide your name and mailing address, ask for an update about your FBI PCC request status
4- They'll respond within a day or 2 telling you the received date
5- Forward the conversation to your VO and gently ask for an extension
For more details on the last step, please refer to a prior post of mine
Good luck!!

Totally useless!!
You can only use it to inquire about the status of your request instead of providing your name and mailing address, that's it!!

Just called the FBI customer services. My wife and I are now in their system, CC not charged yet. Was told to call back in 21 days to enquire about the status of the applications. We are Oct 28 applicants. Yayyyy! Fingers crossed that the finger prints are accepted.

Both posts suggest that they are going to process requests received on each day of October on 3/4 of a day or one day (average)
Which I find hard to believe

Reposting if anyone has any insights into this ?

Hello -

Does anyone know if their are any guidelines for the State PCC - Is it also subjected to a minimum stay of 180 days OR is it only required for the current State of Residence? The reason I am asking is coz we have stayed in multiple states however for some the stay did not exceed 6 months.

Can anyone share some insights into this pls?? Thanks

As far as I can remember, we state in one form of the application package, each address we've resided at... Something like that.
It makes sense if they request state police certificate(s) from this/these state(s)
But to be honest, I have no confirmed piece of information here...

@DestinationCA
I came to know that a fingerprints card could be rejected for missing mandatory information (Name, DOB, etc)
Did you get further information on why yours was rejected?!
And why did you get your husband another set for another request since his last request isn't rejected yet?!
Regards

Agreed, I was actually myself taking a clue from that itself....but since our stay in couple of states (has been a week of two - was just there for vacation), so wanted to get some more clarity on this.

I am still waiting for the official letter to determine the exact reason - if they have mentioned any. From my end, I am very sure that none of the mandatory info was missing. I just played safe with his request as well....since I was already sending new sets for myself, we thought it'll be better to include his's as well just incase we get any more surprises -( BTW, his initial request was recd on Nov, 10 and is yet to be charged.

You'll be notified by mail of the reason as to why your fingerprints were rejected
I already have got one of these
There're 4 possible reasons for rejection, they'll highlight yours
Did you take your fingerprints via ink or live scan this time?!
