I had my credit card charged for the FBI PCC on August 7th,2015 after having my application reach them on May 18th,2015. So we can safely assume here that the average time between the arrival of your packet and their opening of it is roughly 2.5 months.

I kept calling them until on August 14th, 2015 they told me that the fingerprints I sent them were not legible. So I raised the question, that I had sent two sets of fingerprints. They should consider the other one if one is illegible. They said no, 1 payment of 18 dollars corresponds to only one set of fingerprints.
:(

This is quite frustrating as now they have told me to prepare a new package and include new fingerprints in it to send to them. I guess my only suggestion here would be not to send fingerprints taken on a paper. Sending fingerprints taken electronically would be a better way to go.

Also as suggested by some in this forum the whole idea of sending 10 sets of fingerprints is nonsense. This technically means you are sending them 10 different applications with the same names and your credit card is getting charged $18 for each request.

I am going to get my fingerprints taken electronically and resend my packet to them.
::)

Sorry buddy. Good luck on your new application. This time you can send more than one application.
Thanks for sharing. Many of us were thinking they would process all prints to see if other ones are not readable. Its their rules. So not much option for us. But at least its good to know so that we can send multiple applications.

Hello

My spouse has requested for FBI PCC on June 13th, however we have to submit the documents to VO by Sep2.

Unfortunately we dont have the reciept that we sent to FBI.

Could anyone suggest how can we get a proof that our request for FBI report is reached so that we can submit that proof to VO,

Will FBI acknowledge through emails stating our report status ? If so could you share the email address ? Thanks
Hi! What express did you use to send your documents to fbi? Cos every company has tracking numbers and you can access it online to print that it has been received by fbi.or you can ask from the express company of their copy .another is to email fbi and ask for its status in this address: liaison @ leo.gov...

You are right, When I called them before I mailed my application. The rep clearly advised me in case I am worried about my fingerprints being rejected. Send two seperate applications with set of fingerprints in each.
DO NOT include more than one set of fingerprints in one application and if you do, the technician at FBI decides by looking at them and decides which one set to pick, other sets are then discarded.

Therefore I sent multiple applications, it costs more in the end but every set of fingerprint gets processed.

Hope this helps

Interesting. They have listed in FAQ to send multiple fingerprints.
https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks/faqs
5. What if my fingerprints are continuously rejected?
Have multiple sets of fingerprints taken, preferably by a fingerprinting technician.

Yes sending multiple applications are safe as its not costing much for processing (but its costing to get fingerprints) but worth it. I too did the same.

Hi Guys

Quick question I got my FBI PCC on April 2015 but I haven't got AOR or any request to submit this yet.

Do I need to get another one if it passes 6 month time line or it stays valid as its after date of application?

Thanks.

Regards,

Hi rajC:

The maximum time to process from opening date is about a week. My application got to FBI on May 22 and they mailed it back to me last week. I suggest you to call the FBI and ask for your application status ((304) 625-2000). You also have to take into account the shipping time, outside the US can be around 2 weeks.

Hope this helps

I too have the same question but it seems like we will have to wait till we know the visa office allocated.
People send the pcc as soon as they get it if they know the visa office. I have file number but dont know the visa office yet.

If you send your document on date X, expect them to open the document on about X+ "9 weeks" (or more). They will then charge your card (or money order) and start processing. 2 weeks later, they process your finger prints and dispatch your report. This is the best case scenario. Read the forum for worst case scenarios. Send your doc, forget about it for 9 weeks. When your card gets charged call them on the number (304) 625-5590. No point calling before 9 weeks, because they will not have any info.

----
Status on Aug 17th: Opening documents received on June 5th.

My fingerprint application package was delivered to FBI on May 26th and my card was charged on August 10.

I did not call them yet assuming it might take around 2-3 weeks more to receive my certificates.

I had send one finger print form for me but for my spouse I had two forms. So chances are the form of my spouse might be rejected. Will post the update after contacting them.

Keeping fingers crossed.

FSW applications were sent to Sydney office before being assigned to a visa office. I thought you will need to list the visa office when you submit your application? Your AOR will be from the visa office listed in your application unless the visa office has too many applications, then they may switched to another visa office for eg. SGVO has moved some applications to Manila visa office.

I dont know about FSW. Mine is PNP hence everyone sends it to CIO at Sydney, NS. Later Sydney office allocates the applications to respective visa office. As I am US based applicant, its mostly Ottawa office but this office doesnt send any file transferred email after receiving my application from Sydney,NS. So no idea when to send the pcc and where to send the pcc till i receive MR or some communication from visa offices in Canada.
