FBI PCC 13-15 weeks - CIC Electronic Application 60 Days HELP!

Hello,

I've been acquiring and putting together all the documents to upload via the electronic application. I have the PCC from my country of origin, and applied for the FBI PCC a day after I got the ITA. As their processing times are 13-15 weeks and this exceeds CIC's timeframe of 60 days to submit the application, I was wondering how people on here have gone about submitting their application ? I have the receipt of the tracking # of the finger prints being sent out which I can attach with a letter as proof that I have actually sent it out and am just waiting on FBI. Alternatively, I have a FBI PCC from 2 years ago which I can submit along with the additional letter, I'm not sure if that helps though.

Please let me know how I need to proceed, as I have a little under a month now to submit my application and FBI hasn't even charged my credit card as yet.

Thanks!

I was in the same situation. Submit the application close to the deadline with LOE explaining the situation. You will get a document request from CIC with a deadline or if you get FBI PCC before CIC requests you the same, you can submit the new FBI PCC by raising a CSE.

Thanks for the response sachinsoman1988. What kind of timeline do they specify on the deadline ? I'm just curious, as it's already been a month since my document has been with the FBI, so I was wondering if CIC accounts for that. I guess my concern is if the FBI PCC doesn't come before CIC's extended deadline then what. Also, was there an email address or contact # that you can contact the FBI department to see where they are with the process by any chance ?

You get a 60 day deadline to submit the FBI PCC. There have been some reports on this forum of getting a second extension from CIC if there is a legitimate reason for you not having received your PCC by that deadline. In cases where a PCC seems to be difficult to procure and comes down to a processing error (e.g. your fingerprints are unreadable, or your PCC gets lost in the mail), in very rare occasions CIC has been known to rescind the FBI PCC requirement entirely, and just use their access to the FBI database to run a background and criminality check.

Thanks Aragorn165, I think at this point I'll just submit my application with my country of Origin PCC, a LOE, the tracking # receipt and my old FBI PCC from 2 years ago just so that there is something as opposed to nothing. And just wait to see how CIC responds.

I would recommend not uploading the old PCC- people have gotten rejected for uploading expired ones in spite of supporting LOEs before. What I suggest is just uploading the LOE with proof that you have tried your best to procure the PCC, and maybe in the LOE, offer to supply the older PCC, should CIC and your VO wish. But definitely don't submit it yourself.
Also, don't submit your application until the last week or so before your ITA expires.

Did you stay in US after obtaining this PCC? If you got this PCC after leaving US, then it could still be accepted by CIC (but its better to call CIC and check with them).

Thanks for the advice guys! I agree, adding the old PCC won't add any value and I definitely won't want to risk rejection. My reasoning was to add it as a supporting document with the LOE, not uploading it under the main PCC uploads, I just felt that providing something instead of nothing would be good. But I can see why it could possibly backfire on me. I have resided in the US since I acquired the old PCC hence it'll be an issue I suppose. These processing times are ridiculous, it used to be 2 weeks and they were really quick with providing results.
