Hmm. I'll have to see if he has a tracking number etc. I'm not sure if he did and they havent even charged his credit card yet so I don't have any proof that way..Ponga said:CIC is well aware of the FBI delay (which has improved lately, from what was previously 16-18 weeks).
Include a note, as well as proof, that you've sent your fingerprints in, and let them know that you'll send it upon receipt. No need to delay sending the application.
Your proof could be a copy of the tracking information/receipt from the courier that you use. It's also a good idea to include a second set of your prints, just in case one or more prints are not legible. The additional cost is probably $10 and well worth it, IMHO. Be sure to inform the FBI that the second set of prints are just that; a second set, just in case. You do NOT want two letters.
For about 6 weeks, earlier this year, CIC was allowing FBI letters from certified Channellers (approved by the FBI), but they pulled the plug...for reasons unknown.
Channellers were getting letters to people within a week or two.
*shrug*
Since he's already sent his prints, he could send another backup copy if you don't mind paying another fee, but he could have just included multiple sets of prints with the original to use as a backup.ayrazar said:Hmm. Are you suggesting to send a second set of prints tot he FBI separately?
You sure it was identical? I thought that at first, too, but I contacted the channeler and they listed some minor differences. I am sure not every officer pays attention to that rule they just added. It seems frigging stupid to me that the FBI says channelers are OK but CIC does not. The only reason I can see for this is they want all the FBI checks to look the same so they can check for frauds.mpottier said:That's strange I got my wife's FBI check through one of the approved FBI digital Channeler (took 4 working days to get), and used it for her application in September. No problems it was accepted. It was identical to the FBI check that would come in the mail from the FBI directly. Although my wife's application was a "rehabilitation application" made at the Canadian border so it was processed by CBSA and CIC. I'm not sure if that makes any difference.
You should try PMing them, then the message will go to their email.am12345 said:That's strange I got my wife's FBI check through one of the approved FBI digital Channeler (took 4 working days to get), and used it for her application in September. Dear member: Plz can you let me know the name or website of the approved FBI digital channeler that you have applied for FBI report. I know there are several listed at the United States FBI website but it will be good to know the one get accepted by CIC, I needed for ARC(authorization to return to Canada). Actually i already ordered one copy directly from FBI which total took 18 weeks for me to get it but just now this month i come to notice that i might need to send separate United States FBI check to ARC department and one to my immigration officer. My immigration application is at final stage just waiting for this FBI check and ARC so don't want to wait again 18 weeks for another FBI report. Kindly anyone in this forum know the website that take international applications and process quickly as i be applying from Karachi plz let me know,Thanx
