Hello folks!

Husband and I are collecting all the things we need to get our application together. We seem to be stuck on the clearance letter issue, we submitted digital prints through an FBI approved third party and received a letter back from the state of PA dept. of family services that says 'the result of your FBI background check (x) no record exists'. The state and local police no longer do fingerprints/have the cards to send to the FBI. Husband seems to think there will be a follow up letter from the FBI, but if it there isn't: would the State letter (that makes reference to a Federal check) be enough? Anyone in the NEPA area know of any other options? Feeling a bit lost!!
Thanks very much!

You can find the fingerprint card here on the FBI's site

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/criminal-history-summary-checks/standard-fingerprint-form-fd-258

If I were you, I'd look into taking it to the local police department to have fingerprints taken for free. Then, mail direct to the FBI as per CIC's instructions. Do not go through an FBI-approved channeler. We did that, after getting approval of CIC, and found out it wasn't acceptable and there was nothing we could do but to resubmit direct. Hope this info helps!
