FBI Clearance in US

True .. All this after I had given an expedite request deadline of the 10th Dec ...
Did u request for ure case to be expedited in ure request ?

Unfortunately, I hadn't put in any expedite request, as at the time I applied the posted timelines on FBI website were 3-4 weeks and not 8-10 weeks. I never thought or could imagine that this is going to happen.

steve81, when was your request recieved by FBI CJIS? I just spoke to the FBI and I have completed 10 weeks and yet processing hasn't started and the customer rep told me it takes 8-10 weeks !!!!! What if she keeps saying 8-10 weeks till 16, 17 or 18th week? I can't wait till eternity, I will miss the deadline of full document submission.

Y dont u request to spk with a supervisor and seek clarification .
How can it not yet be in in the processing stage when u have already completed 10 weeks .. And they still give u a 8-10 week deadline ..
Chk if ure docs and fingerprints are OK .

In order to track each others progress lets start providing these details.

Mailed out documents - Nov 13th 2009
Reached FBI - Nov 23rd (per cust service ) Nov 17th per Online tracking
Cover letter request date - Jan 2nd 2010 (lets say "did not request" in case you did not enter a date)
Current status - Recd application, not in the database yet :'(

Don't worry focus. My application has been sitting FBI since last Oct. I still hear nothing yet. they only reply is that my case is on top priority since way pass 8-10 mark.

My stuff received by FBI on 20th Oct. No complete yet. Still waiting. They said that my case is on top priority now because passed 10 weeks mark... They asked me called them back in two weeks if hear nothing.....

So there is some serious issue going on with the FBI then. 20th Oct case not done yet and still 2 more weeks to check. By then it will already be 14 weeks. They must give a reason for this. Vollog, what was your method of payment? Was it Credit card or certified check?

Anushauc, I have asked several times if there was a problem with my documents and fingerprints, and they have kept saying that if there was a problem, you would receive a call. This has become excruciatingly painful now, for no reason whatsoever. I think I will have to talk to a supervisor now.

Mine just mailed my FBI application today same with my FSW1 application to NS Canada... til what is the validity of FBI clearance?!?

Anjay, all this makes me worried. Just to be clear, did you pay by Credit Card and your Credit card got debited for the fees in the 2nd week of December or did you pay by Bank Draft and the draft got encashed on the 2nd week of December? If your request was received by the FBI on 11/16, I would strongly suggest that you go ahead and make a full submission to Buffalo right away. My case was received by FBI on 11/2 and it has still not entered their database, anushauc's was received on 11/11 and they would likely send hers out only by 1/12/10. So, I anticipate that you waiting for it to come before 1/19 is too risky.

garian4u, i used creditcard and it was charged for the fees 2nd wk of dec...i called fbi again yesterday and they told me that they were scheduled to send it out by 1-15, i also indicated that i needed to get this expedited for dec 1 but i guess that does not really count...i will be sending my file over to buffalo with a cover letter stating that fbi cert will follow.

Thats what I did. Sent in all documents and stating in my cover letter that the FBI clearance has not been sent with these documents. I attached signature confirmation receipts from USPS as proof that the fingerprints have been submitted to FBI for processing. CHC is now asking for FBI prints again if the previous report has been more than one year old.

You are so lucky//// I called FBI again today, they said my application is still processing. the same answer they gave me about one month ago. document is not scheduled to mail out yet. It has been sitting there since 10-20-2009.. I really want to say Fu*k to them
