I got both my Idaho and Oregon state records back awhile ago, and they showed no record, but the FBI check (it took only about 8 weeks to get it in case anyone is curious) was not so kind!

In Idaho, in 1998, I have a charge for "Petit Theft" that shows as Dismissed on the FBI record. 13 years ago. Is this going to completely screw me up? I have nothing else out there, I've been beyond good since that stupidity.

No as the charge was dismissed. I hope that you didn't state on your application that you had never been charged.

I haven't filled out any application paperwork yet (we're not getting married until the end of April, so I have some time to get it done), we're at the gathering proof stage right now.

Do I need to contact the county in Idaho and request the records with the details, or do I just need to write an explanation of what happened since it was dismissed.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! Happy New Year!

You will need a new FBI certificate that is less than three months old when you submit your application.

It's just my luck that it came back a whole month early, making them a month outdated when we do to apply.

So I don't need anything from Idaho?
