I saw something about this recently as something they were planning on implementing but at the time there was no time table. Glad to see it is now live.

I believe there is no need for going through this risk with the Channelers anymore if you are not a US citizen or PR. The FBI has finally implemented the new eDO which according to their website:
Current processing time for requests submitted electronically is forecasted to be 48 hours upon receipt of the fingerprint card. Allow additional time for mail delivery if this option was selected during the request process.
Here is the link to submit your application: https://www.edo.cjis.gov
Good Luck!

So as a US citizen, should I be using this instead of the channeler? I'm a bit confused. And am having my fingerprints done in 2 days.. Currently residing in Canada.

Sounds like you can skip the channeler altogether and just use the new electronic option via the FBI

I see. Wow this is actually great! Where would you be able to get your fingerprints electronically done in Canada BC?

Also though, I heard CIC only wanted them ink rolled? Sorry if I am misunderstanding.

By my understanding, you can still do them ink and send them in?

Ink roll and live scan are both acceptable to the FBI. You should be concerned about what's acceptable to the FBI, not CIC.

Besides, since the eDO method still allows for ink rolled prints, what's the issue?

Oh ok I see! How would you submit Ink fingerprints online? I am looking for information but I can't find any. On the website for the edo it says to mail the fingerprint card?

If you do have to send them in the mail, what is the difference then the normal process?

Instead of waiting the 4-6 weeks for them to send them back to you, you get the answer within 48 hours of them opening your fingerprints. That's my assumption.

I'm not 100% sure though.

Huh, are you going to try that?

If so let me know how it goes :)

I'm honestly not sure. I might try it.. but people are saying that FBI is opening fingerprints from October 2017 still. I might still do a channeler.. Just to be 100% sure that I receive it back in time since I didn't do it ahead of time.
