FBI Background Check

Hello - I am a US Citizen and applying for Canadian Immigration through sponsorship from my wife who is Canadian. I requested the FBI Criminal Background check and it came back basically saying they can't speak for state and local police records, but that my national/FBI check came back clean (as I expected).

The question is do I additionally have to obtain a record from my state or local law enforcement for my immigration application?

No, unless CIC specifically asks for State level clearance. Usually, all that is needed is the FBI IHSR letter.
