Hello everyone

I am seeking help/suggestions/possible solutions to the following situation -

My background - Currently in Canada ( for past 5 years - first as student now on Postgrad work permit - currently working as an engineer - applying for PR - nomination in process)

Fathers Background - Currently in india (for past 3 years, previously in Dubai for 10 years) - Employed with the same company for past 15 years - Annual income - 38 Lacs INR (CAD 68000)
Previous Travel - UK/Schengen region, Middle east, South East Asia, China, etc

Mother's background - Currently housewife ( previously teacher - living with my father and my younger brother)

My father applied for TRV in October 2013 for a 15 days visit to Calgary to visit me and see the rockies by himself ( mother did not apply). He attached all necessary documents - stated I was here - I could NOT provide my Work permit ( I was on implied status - just graduated but working) - Also I did not send an invite letter since - proof of stay in canada is required along with that.
However - he applied with all his documents, flight booking, hotel bookings, itinerary, purpose of visit tourism and family, ITR documents, leave letter from employer, salary certificate)

He was REJECTED on grounds of - Travel history, Employment situation and Purpose of Visit.

I ordered GCMS Notes which states - PA wishes to travel to calgary and Banff and stay at a hotel. PA has good travel history but mainly middle east and no visit to North America.
PA has very limited income in India and there could be a strong potential financial incentive in overstaying escp if son is working in Canada. Based on this, I am concerned purpose of visit is not genuine and PA may not leave Canada.

Can anyone guide me on what to do next? How to rectify these things? My parents are planning to re-apply in May 2014 for a visit in the summer (together).

PS - My grandparents live with my parents - my parents support them coz of their health issues. I am planning to show this as a home tie next time - My parents also own One apartment and are paying for the second apartment currently. My brother is in Grade 12 in India. In india that salary is considered above average - He is a General Manager in a firm with about 2000 employees.

Please give your inputs.

Sorry for the refusal.

I think first you get your PR then apply for your parents. Afterwards you can even apply for their supervisa.

Hello
Yes that is my back up plan...but PR will take an year from now...and I would like them to visit once ( its been 5 years im in canada and they have not come so yeah).

My friends and their parents have a visit visa they applied earlier (when we were still students) ...I am sure there is a way to get a visa...the situation is not that bad.

I really can't see why they rejected this application. The GCMS notes don't make sense, given the applicant's circumstances.

One additional thing - the VO based his refusal on the income after taxes - which is around 24 Lacs (CAD 40K)....it was in GCMS notes - it is still not that low..or is it?

Sometimes the VO's decision simply lacks logic. All you can do is apply again, this time with a cover letter that specifically addresses the concerns expressed in the GCMS notes. Normally Canada stipulates that there should be a material change in fact to justify a second application, but in this case the VO got it wrong (e.g. thinking that your father's salary is low; it seems quite high in India). And, you may get a different, more astute VO the second time.

Your main theme might be that the first VO misunderstood your father's situation, and then go on to emphasize all your father's strong ties to India (son in school, parents in the home relying on father for support due to poor health, real estate holdings in India, etc etc.) VOs don't have much time to assess each application, so specifically addressing the reasons for the first refusal should get the VO's attention.

Good luck. It's a frustrating experience, I know.

Do your parents have travel history showing they had travelled together in the past? If not, I suggest they should not apply together.

Hello Folks
I am re-visiting this thread with another query.

With regards to the same situation and background, we have now decided to re-apply for a visitor visa for my parents ( both of them together). We will take into account the suggestions here.

I have one question - My brother wants to visit as well. In this case should all three of them apply together? Or will it weaken the application? I have suggested my parents to apply without my brother as he can try for visa later.
My father already has one rejection and this time we need to ensure that atleast my parents get the visa so they can visit me. No idea what to about my brothers application who is also in India studying.

haha, $68,000 CDN salary is considered limited income? Does the VO even know what the average salary is in India? Even $68K is more than the Canadian average. What an idiot. Sorry to say, but your dad's refusal was unjustified. The strong potential financial gain from you working in Canada is the most laughable excuse ever.

He worked at his company for 15 years, makes a great salary, he's also travelled to the UK before. Wow, sorry to say your dad got robbed
