Hello Everyone,

My son is a student at University (four years bachelor) starting his third year. He has worked before and has some savings in a bank. He would like to sponsor his wife from Afghanistan. Right now, he's not working. He's living with us. Can I use my income and savings for him to sponsor his wife?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Assuming your son is PR or citizen and not on welfare, he can sponsor his wife for PR on his own. You don't need to use your income nor savings.

Yes you can say that you will provide financial support for the couple and you will need to provide your financial documents.

Always a bit puzzled as to why there is a rush to get married when your son is still in school and won’t be financially independent for quite some time. Getting married at 21/22 would still be extremely early by Canadian standards and would have at least finished a bachelors degree.

Thank you so much. I know it's very early by Canadian Standards. But he wanted to get married. My son's own decision. My advice didn't work.
