Couldn't they use health card?

health card is a hit or miss for ID purposes

In our family case, the ontario photo card was accepted for ohip ‘proof of address requirement’
Apply for it , its also a good local ID for banking, etc, these days accepted everywhere in ontario.
usually comes within 1-2 weeks of applying so not an issue and its a good ID to have.

when did you apply for photo ID? and which office did you go? Would like to get a sense how long it takes recently. On the service ontario website it says 4-6 weeks.

we got our Ontario Photo ID in 4 weeks back in August 2022
