Hi Folks,

I would like to know if i become a premanent redisent via skilled labor category say this month then
I go to India to marry my fiance.
Would her application be processed in India or Canada?
The reason i am asking is the processing time is 65 and 6 months respectively.

If it takes 65 months whats the fastest way i can get her in Canada?

Regards,
Irfan

1. Once you are married and return to Canada, you submit a sponsorship to Mississauga with her application and supporting documents and proof of medical, 24 days for refusal/approval
2. If approved the application is sent to ND, where it takes 2-6 months, if there are no questions about the bona fides or an interview is not required. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/05-fc-spouses.asp
3. The 65 months if for skilled workers.

Thanks a lot PMM that was real quick.
So my wife can be here in 6 - 7 months and the logic of her waiting for 5 yrs (indian processing time) doesn't apply.
Is that right????

If Yes, This is really good since US Green Card holders cannot sponsor their spouses.

That is right. The 5 years is for skilled workers under the old system. The new system should be faster but in any case, the 5 years has nothing to do with spouses.
