Fast track application has disadvantaged others

Cliffy, I totally agree with you...If this stupidness about fast track wasn't in place then people from the backlog would have long been processed.
They were placed as priority over the people that have been waiting longest.

It is sometimes so frustrating hearing them pine over how long they've waited when people are there in the queue from as far back as 2003.

Fast track thing messed us up time!

Thanks for the support!! We also tried family sponsership as my uncle is a canadian citizen - but guess what - i had to be an orphan or under 18yrs of age!!! Figure that one out!!!!!!

but cliffy if you fall under 38 listed nocs or 29 which is now i think you should have gone for that. if your fast track processes quicker you can withdraw old one and refund your fees. but its entirely upto you what you want to do and do not forget my sympathies are with those who are stuck in back log. good luck to you.

Not correct as we got a standard letter some time ago (which is mentioned on another thread) that if we did not reply within 60 days of the letter then all fees would be non refundable!

but it is appreciated everywhere, even canadian government came up saying they have escalated the immigration process, i saw in news it was everywhere praising fast track seriously when it was launched

I just want to join to this sentiment... I've been reading Canada Immigration forums for 4 years... and I'm starting to think that this will never end, my life has been in pause since 2007... it's very annoying to read posts almost everyday about people who got their visa in 10 months just because they applied under the Quebec rules, and headed to the anglo side...

Anyway... we could see the glass half empty or half full... I prefer to see it as half-full glass since I must be close to get the update letter... In 20 years we're going to be remembering this and saying... what a heck, we waited but worth it.

Is there any other vo slower than London?? Applicants like us who applied in 2007 have been seriously disadvantaged by the fast
track program! I see posts on this forum who applied in Jan this year and within 3 months have had their docs requested and more and yet nothing is happening on ours!! Their objective of bringing down the backlog obviously isnt working!!
We have docs checked by consultants waiting and waiting and waiting.....
Screaming in frustration!!

I think we should see the positive side of this long wait... I'm classifying as master in immigration process... after 5 years of reading forums I think I will open my own lawyers firm as soon as I land in Canada.

Seriously, the fast track was a huge mistake, but I think.. what will be the processing times to the new people if they didnt implement it? I think some will go for 15 years backlog if that was the case.

Common cic, please hire some new immigrants to help you out with the immigration process!, I'm sure you'll do a double shot with this, at one side you will employ people, and it will give them "Canadian experience" and at the other side the cic will clean up the backlog, I think it will be a win-win situation.
