Fast processing times for Parents/Grandparents' sponsorship?

So I applied to sponsor my mom in Jan 2015. In May, I received a letter approving me as a sponsor, and that my file would be sent to CPC-Ottawa! This seems to be going very fast. Any guesses as to when I should be receiving the med test request? And then how much longer till the visa is issued?

So just to be clear: there are people who submitted applications in 2015 who have already received the medical request?

Some people who applied in 2016 have already been asked to take medicals.

No idea why they seem to be asking so early for recent apps. Parents apps from 2011 are still processing and should expect all backlog to be done first before they approve the 2014+ apps. I expect most parents will be re-doing medicals a few years down the road.

I think you'll find that's inaccurate, we're 2014 and waiting for passport requests. Medicals, police certs and RPRF have all been requested and done
