Thanks for the response. The number of hours accumulates to 1,920 hrs (i.e. 20 hrs/week X 1 year, 11 months). Thanks again.

thanks for the informative post and discussion. I'm list RA (in Canada) as an working experience. I just wonder for the question : "Studying full-time while doing this job? A person must be in class at least 15 hours per week during the academic year to be considered full-time. This includes any period of training in the workplace that is part of the study program." should I answer yes or no?
One side, I was on study permit. Other side, the class time was no more than 15 hours a week. (Seems all graduate students I know just have 2-3 courses one semester). I don't want to lie in any sense, though this question is just so confusing. Thanks

In relation to Dion1's question, what did you put for the number of hours worked in the application for the work experience? 30+hrs (full time) ?
I know we pretty much work full time but there's 20 hr restriction while being a full time student on a study permit which would be confusing to the officer.

“This includes any time period of training in the workplace.” So if your research, lab work, working on a project or your RAship is a mandatory part of your degree, you should say that you have been a full-time. Also, you can get an enrollment verification letter from your registrar to verify that.
If one is TA for a year and then RA for subsequent years, can you combine the RA/TA number of years for experience under 4012? Or one has to choose one, all TA or all RA experience for 4012?

I have another question: It says "Enrolment in a university or college program is required." for NOC 4012. Does this mean if I have performed similar duties at a university but I wasn't pursuing a degree at the same time, then I can't include that work experience? If not, can I count that work experience towards another NOC such as 4021?
from what I understand, usually employment requirements can be ignored for the purpose of express entry, but VO may still have the right to question whether your work experience is legit based on your educational level and/or general background. For example, if you claimed to perform the duties of a physician and yet you did not go to med school, of course the VO could get suspicious.
going back to your case, I suppose you just have to explain why/how you became a TA/RA for a professor while you were not a student pursuing the degree at the same institution. I know a few people who did some research work in their old labs between their undergrad and grad program, and such RA work experience seems pretty legit.

I need some help i am planning to apply for EE under the Federal Skilled Worker category. I am based in Country X and i on a study permit as i am pursuing my PHD. I have been on study permit since 2015. When i finished my Masters in 2015 i got a full time job from Jan 2016 to Dec 2017 where i worked as a social worker full time (35-40 hours per week (thats my profession). In 2018 i enrolled for my PHD and i got hired as a Teaching Assistant in the Social Work and Psyhcology Department. I am currently working there. I am working 15hrs sometimes more per week in this job. In 2019 i got a part time job as a research assitant for a social work research project on child protection in 2019 which involved working closely with residential institutions for orphans and vulnerable children and their social workers. So i was doing 2 part time jobs 2019.. 2020 i am working with another charity organisation on youth development working part time. All this work experience was/is obtained under study permit.my question is should i declare the 2016-2017 experience as full time or declare it as part time considering that study permit in this country allows a student to work 20hours per week. I am very confused am not sure if it is considered as experience. Kindly assist
