Hello,

I am 17 years old, and I was born and raised here in the UAE. I've been a resident of Dubai for all of my life (17 years) and I've only visited my home country three or four times in my whole life. I have a brother who goes to university here in Dubai, and my mom has been working here for almost 27 years now, and my dad lives in my home country. He owns three properties that he maintains there, while my mom makes income here. How do I show sufficient family ties in my application? I have no idea how to do that. PLEASE HELP. This is my first time reapplying after I got refusal in August.

Do you have a long term status in Dubai, or does your family need to renew visas or permits frequently?

You need to make a case that you are established and have a reason - and a right - to return.

The problem is, the country of Dubai does not give out permanent residence. So, my family and I do have residence in Dubai, but it has to be renewed every 6 months. Can I explain that the reason that I will return is that I will return to my brother, who will have a job here, and my mom who works here, and the property my father owns in my home country?

You can try that. That is the problem that the visa officer has - your life is in Dubai but there's no promise you can return after your studies.

That's the issue that I am trying to rectify! The only way to "promise" that I will return is by writing a strong letter of explanation and showing my father's land deeds and that's it :/ Thanks anyways!

Two reasons :
  • Did not prove sufficient financial support [This issue I have solved]
  • Refused due to my "immigration status" [I am guessing this is due to weak family ties]
Immigration status you need to disclose your current status in dubai, you can send them anything you have like visa, birth certificate etc
