I have a illegitimate twin daughter from my first boyfriend(we’re not married and he abandoned us since 1years old.but my twin daughter is carrying his last name)


Then after 6 years I get married from a Canadian citizen. Right now he’s trying to sponsor us but he’s not sure if he can sponsor also my daughter because the last name is different. And since then my first boyfriend abandoned us as in no support, & no communication until now. Is that possible?

Yes, the daughter is your dependent. You may be required to provide proof like birth certificates or custody order, but the last name wont prevent a sponsorship.

As previous reply, you are required to include your daughters as your dependents (if they are under 22 years old which I assume is true).
You will need to proof that you have custody and there are additional form to fill-in to show that you are allowed by the other parent to bring them to Canada.

Their lastname do not affect how the application is processed.

Given your ex likely has social media I would try to reach out to him now. It is much easier to have the father approve your move to Canada and your full custody versus proving that you can’t find him. Canada doesn’t want to get in the middle of any future accusations of parental kidnapping.

Would try sending text or social media message to him, his friends and family explaining that you are wanting to move to Canada with his children but need his permission or legal custody. He doesn’t have to do anything and you are not looking to get any money from him. I assume you must know about his family and friends. If no reply save the proof and that will give you more evidence that you tried to contact him.

Would try sending text or social media message to him, his friends and family explaining that you are wanting to move to Canada with his children but need his permission or legal custody. He doesn’t have to do anything and you are not looking to get any money from him. I assume you must know about his family and friends. If no reply save the proof and that will give you more evidence that you tried to contact him.

I’m really confused right now.because I need the form IMM5604 to submit even though I have full custody with my kids since he abandoned us. Haay... i’ll try to make a detailed letter for that.or they can ask my kids if they see their dad.

The parent's signature must appear on the identity document. If you are divorced or separated, you must also include a copy of any related custody agreements demonstrating that the child is free to move to Canada. If the other parent is deceased, provide a copy of his/her death certificate.
Important: If you are unable to provide documents showing that your child's other parent has no objection to your child's immigration, you must provide a detailed explanation.?
