Yes you need one and it takes 12-16 weeks to receive it, you should apply right now submit the application and then later submit the PCC i would say atleast your approval stage is cleared and then u submit as and when u receive the PCC to New Delhi Office.

You cannot get the FBI clearance from India. Go thu the link below for the entire process

www (dot) fbi (dot) gov/about-us/cjis/background-checks/background_checks (Put . for dots)

You also have to get Fingerprints done for this purpose. Usually downloaded fingerprint form is accepted but might be rejected as it bends in the post so try getting original FBI fingerprint form. You can get the form and the fingerprinting done from www (dot) indiafingerprinting (dot) com if you are in India. You dnt need to travel they can also travel to your place to get everything done for you but charges might be more for that. They will guide you on everything and charge you Rs 3600/- for the same.

You also will need the state clearance as well (different for each US state) but depends on case to case its not mandatory but to be on safer side get it done as well and submit when demanded by ND embassy

For State PCC refer the link below.

Thanks for the reply.
JK fingerprinting agencies cost almost 8000 rs to fingerprint in chennai. Do you know of anyother alternative fingerprinting agency in chennai who do it for less cost. is it possible to do at a local police station or something like that....

You can approach Tamil Nadu Forensic Department. The cost is much less as compared to the consultancy located in Delhi. You just have to visit the premises located on the on the Marina Beach Road in Chennai and go for the fingerprint recording. The office is called State Crime Record Bureau.

While visiting the Government Forensic offices, you need to mention that you require getting the fingerprints for the motto of acquiring valid visa.

As i said before you need to get the original FBI fingerprint card as chances are less that it would be rejected because if rejected it means wastage of around 12 weeks. So you can ask JK to provide you the card atleast they might provide you that (if feasible) or you can drop an email to FBI on liaison@leo.gov to inquire how to get one.

is there anyone here that can hep me about this question, my husband is planning to sponsor me and my daughter (from my ex) and her birth certificate (my daughter's) is late registered. It is because I gave birth when I was in vacation and I just recently found out that my she is not registered because the school finally asked about her authenticated birth certificate, I thought the midwife that help me with the delivery got her registered but apparently she doesn't. she was 7 years old, only last year when the birth cert. was registered but aside from that I have all the papers that she need. school records, baptismal certificate (recently baptized) and a xerox copy of her immunizations when she was a baby. will I have a problem in our application?

thank you in advance.

What country are you from? The birth certificate that was registered last year should still be fine for your daughter.

rjjesome, I am from the philippines. I already sent my papers to my husband in canada, I included additional informations formy daughter like her school records and baptismal certificate and the documents that i used in processing her registered birth certificate (affidavit, immunization from local health center etc). I hope that would be enough..
