I have a question regarding about sponsorship.. I read that a sponsored parent, way back 30 yrs. ago had applied for social assistance. . . now the sponsor would like to apply for an spousal sponsorship. Will there be complication, thought the social assistance situation happened 3 decades ago? Please advise. thank you!

Hard to say. It's possible you may be told you have to repay the social assistance before you can apply to sponsor a spouse. Probably more likely you won't be asked to repay given it's been three decades. You'll find out when you submit the sponsorship application...
