Hi! My questions are below:

1) Suppose I get a Canadian permanent residency, is it OK for me to sponsor my adult brothers and sisters and parents to immigrate to Canada?

2) Do I need to wait after I get the Canadian Citizenship status and then sponsor my adult brothers and sisters and parents to immigrate to Canada? In other words, is it OK to sponsor them to immigrate right after I get the Canada permanent residency and without Canadian Citizenship?

Thanks a lot !!

1) Yes - you can sponsor your parent provided both they and you meet the criteria for sponsorship. You cannot sponsor your adult brothers and sisters.

2) You can sponsor your parents as a permanent resident. You don't have to wait for citizenship.

The OP should note that parents sponsorship opens in Jan/14 and you will need 3 years of qualifying income from Canadian sources to be eligible to sponsor parents. As the OP is not a PR yet, it will be a long while before s/he is able to sponsor parents.

Agreed - these are important points.

Considering new PR's, all shouldd be prepared min 6-7 years before a successful parent sponsorship ( 3 for income and 3-4 for processing ), that is if they land up a 40k + job in the 1st year itself
