After we had already received our eligibility letters, both sponsor and PA are now being re-assessed and current letters state to disregard the last emails about being eligible. Anyone had this happen? What would cause a re-assessment?

There could be a number of different reasons. It's hard to say what might be possible without knowing more about your situation.

For example, assuming you applied inland, are you both in Canada? Are you living together continuously? Could be so many different things...

Yes we both are inland, married with children, live together. We did leave Canada for 10 days to bury my spouses mother. Sponsor is self employed but I’m not sure if income is still required for sponsorship.

Leaving for 10 days shouldn't be the issue.

Anything unusual about your situation or history?

i jumped too quick to post lol. They sent another email for custody documents even tho non-accompanying parent signed the proper form.
Did they state any particular reason? If you don't mind sharing this of course. We have a difficult case in that regard, We supplied a letter of explanation. The application wasn't returned and we got to the SA stage but I guess they may change their mind at any moment.

yes, we were eligible, but then they decided to re-assess us. We sent the form from non-accompanying parent from my step son mother, but they sent an email after the reassessment email stating that they wanted custody arrangements, either from court or a letter signed and notorized from non-accompanying parent. My stepsons mother had to be tracked down in order to get the other form signed, she left her son with his father (my spouse) and his family some 15 or so years ago (he is 17 now). So we have a 30 day deadline so we will have to get that letter and hopefully it will all work out. My husband has been in Canada for 8 years under work permit, so during that time, his son was living with my inlaws. I was quick to post here before we got the letter stating what they needed.
