Family Sponsorship Application Sent To Accra Ghana

Hello All!!!

I recently rec'd a email from CIC stating I am approved to be a sponsor and my application was sent to the visa office in Accra Ghana. This is an application to sponsor my Nigerian husband.

Does anyone have recent experience to share with this process???? And the golden question How long will the remaining process take. We have 3 children and its not easy by myself here in Canada to raise them alone.

My husband has already done and sent in his police certificates and medicals

Any experience or advice is greatly appreciated!

First have u received the acknowledgement that they have received your application? If yes have you received the AoR2? These are some of the steps to determine the fastness of accra process if not you may have to wait for like 7 to 9 months.

Is that the acknowledgement letter or are they going to send it from Ghana? Ever since I heard from the June 1, I haven't heard anything else. Im sooo anxious!!!! I really don't understand the codes on here. AoR2? Firstlady can you please explain? Are we suppose to get something from them to confirm? I sent it my husbands application March 9 and I was approved June 1. I am losing my mind!!!!

If your category is FAM and your file is transfered to AVO the below thread is the best to track AVO progress and to be current with the activities going on with the VO, good luck

Hello; we are on same timeline.My wife's application was sent to Accra since June 8 and I have not heard anything from them since then ....Am also loosing my mind.

Just to ask. I got PPR on 8th February and sent passports on 16th February it was received in AVO on 18th February. Ecas shows decision made but I do not have pick up mail till now. When do u think it will come or is something wrong. I have sent email and raised CSE but got auto response.

What can I do apart from wait. Help anyone. Any ideas

Hello the visa officer requested that we do FBI report, FBI report took 13weeks we rec'd it and sent it directly to Ghana FedEx we got confirmation that it was delivered. I also follow up with an email to let the embassy know we have full filled their request and of course no reply. Our application has now been in process for 14months and 2weeks which is over the processing time on CIC website. What should I do? Is there anything that can be done? How can I check on this application? The VO in Ghana does not answer phone calls or reply to emails. CIC call centre can not check of the status, my MP is useless. What do we have to do? Does my husband have to move to Syria? Do I have to book a flight to Ghana and start shouting in the embassy. Imagine my daughter is 2 years old and has not bee around her father not to mention my two other kids. I work sooo hard and pay too much taxes for refugees and my own husband can not enter this Canada.
