we did our medicals on MAY5,2012 ....... still didn,t get any PP request ...... Is there any new rule of 15 months validity??? .... if it is there can anyone elaborate it briefly??? ....... some of my friends are sailing in the same boat and there medicals have already expired but they haven't got any call from the embassy ....... :( :( :(

As I said before, wait until they contact you. If you get the medicals now and they don't need them, it's a total waste of money that could be used for something else. Be prepared to do another one, but don't do it yet.

There's a new procedure that will allow medical validity to be extended if your application processing is completed within 15 months of the original medical exam and the only thing stopping your application from final approved and PPR is the expiration of your medical results (or ability to reasonably land within the initial year-long validity).

Officers will now be able to submit a request for an extension of the medical exam result validity (as long as they were done within the last 15 months) and they can extend them for an additional 12 months without the need for an additional medical exam. The details are on the CIC website.

Hopefully this saves folks time and expense of extra medical exams.
