Hi All,

I am single and I am planning to sponsor my parents through Parents and grandparents program 2020
I have younger sister as well and she is 21yrs old but she wont be accompanying parents. Do i still have to consider her while calculating family size to check financial requirement.
What would be my family size 3 or 4 ? I meet the financial requirement for 3.

Thanks.

You have to include your sister in the calculation unless she is married or in a common law relationship (meaning she has lived with someone for at least one year).

Hi, I am also single and I am submitting a family sponsorship for my parents. I have a brother who is 27 and has lived separately from us since he was 18. He is not married. Do I have to include him in my family size? He is definitely not a dependent of my dad. He ahs been working for a while now.

Unless he is disable to take care of himself and is dependent on his/your parents.
The general rule for dependent is under 22 years old and single. Your brother is NOT a dependent.

I also have a question about imm 5768 FINANCIAL EVALUATION FOR PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS SPONSORSHIP. I am sponsoring my parents and my parent's name are not mentioned in this form. Correct? They are included in the family size (Q7) but nowhere in this form do I have to mention their name. (question9, 10, 11 and 12 specifically)

Also if I am single and sponsoring my parents. what should I put as my family size for Q14 table. 1 or 3? This is so confusing. As I was only 1 person those years they will be added to my family going forward.

Thank you again :)
