Hello Friends,
Need help!
Currently, I am having WP status in Canada and my wife is stuck in India, waiting for her travel. As per the guidelines, I have written the application with all the required details to IRCC at IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC to get the authorization letter, but there is no response since last 10days. As per the article, they will be responding in 5 working days. May I know if there is anyone having same scenario? Has anyone managed to get the authorization letter from IRCC and what's the timeline?
As of now I have received only an automatic response explaining who are eligible to write an authorization.

Unfortunately you need to consider that you won’t be given a travel exemption.

But, as per the article I am satisfying the criteria. So no one have received the exemption?

You need to prove that travel is essential and CIC has to agree with you. It will depend on why her travel is essential. Normally spouses of WP are not allowed. Having a job to return to is one of the reasons that some people are being approved.

Thanks for your response.
Just wanted to confirm that I am following the latest rules.

How to reunite with an immediate family member who is in Canada temporarily
To travel to Canada from the US to reunite with an immediate family member who is in Canada temporarily, you must provide evidence that your travel is essentialFootnote1 (non-discretionary).

To board your flight to Canada from a country other than the US, you must have written authorization from IRCC to fly to Canada.
How to request an authorization

Email us at IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca only if you’re reuniting with an immediate family member who is living in Canada temporarily. We won’t respond to any other inquiries.

Yes, you are. The issue is that your wife must demonstrate that her travel is essential.

How can she demonstrates that her travel is essential can you please an idea?
Thank You

It's difficult if she has a TRV and you are only here on a study permit. If she can get a SOWP and then secure a job in Canada, it would be easier.

Hello,
I don't think IRCC really have any rules to identify which is essential or non essential. My husband is in work permit .We have 2 kids(4 &7 yrs).
We booked the tickets on March 20 but due to Covid tickets were cancelled.
In India, schools have started online programs and we need to pay huge sum for school fees to enroll my kids. However, there is a lot of uncertainty due to these travel restrictions and I don't know whether to enroll my kids or not as my family is supposed to travel Canada to reunite with husband.

With my situation , IRCC has denied the authorization letter as non optional , however lot of friends got approval for the same reason.
Now IRCC is not responding to any of the queries and don't ve any insight of visitor visa ban removal.

what kind of VISA do you have. Is there any way of following up or any contact details in Canada?
