Hi

Extremely unlikely that you will find a sympathetic BSO. Most likely will just turn you around.
So if I show BSO, my appointment letter from an I.T. MNC and tell them that I wanted to settle in first and then bring in my wife and kids a month later and even show them print outs of tickets for my wife and kids ... would it be okay then or will they still turn me back

Very likely that you will be boarding flight going back to your country.
One of my friend is going to land in Toronto on 30 July 2012 and I have asked him to personally inquire from immigration officer at port of entry whether this is possible to have family member landing before Primary Applicant.
Lets wait for answer given by BSO/immigration officer at Toronto.

Then I think Navneet Ji .... we should request CIC to not mislead us with that official verbatim on their Website.

But till the point it is there, I will say, if you have a valid reason like I have pointed out in my post, you have a very reasonable chance to land before your principal applicant.

No - that's not what it states.

The official wording on the CIC site states that if you have a valid reason, they will let you enter the country but WILL NOT let you land (land = become a PR). You still cannot land until the primary applicant arrives (this rule doesn't change).

So the best case scenario is that you may be allowed into the country. But since you aren't allowed to land (i.e. become a PR) before the primary applicant arrives, you won't be able to apply for a SIN or start working, you won't have access to health care, and you won't have any of the other benefits granted to PRs.

Well I believe, arranging a home could be a valid reason. But if you show them job offers it will not be OK. Because since you will not be a PR or on a work visa in Canada before your wife (PA) comes to Canada, it won't be legal for you to work in Canada.

And btw those who are saying that its a BIG risk. I don't understand what is the BIG risk? In worst case scenario he will board a plane back home and then next day he can board another plane to Canada with his family. So that BIG risk is just a return air ticket.

I do not understand why some of you like to push or seek for things that are not there. The rule clearly states that on occasions, there are family members who have tried landing before the principal applicant however, this is not allowed unless it can be proven that the principal applicant was on a different flight as the flight the family were travelling in was full to hold him or her and other reasons and in the case of this applicant, you cannot convince immigration why you and the family are landing before the principal applicants. Only and I mean only if you are able to convince the immigration officer of above would the family be allowed in.

Looking for quick fixes and loopholes is not the best way to be starting on this new journey in your lives and why jeopardise everything over something very silly.
